It's just a nonsense. Sorry. But we literally had the club mouthpiece in Ali G tell us immediately there's no intent to sell
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't say we are looking to sell. They will get low balled.

Everything is for sale at the right price all the time. But in this case there's no news, no apparent bids, The journos are saying we're not for sale..

Sorry. Reliable* journos

So why not put their own money in instead of taking a loan out against future revenue? If the put their own money in I would feel like they are here to stick around for longer.

I just want a sale. Looking for excuses for one lol.

Yeah good point that would make a much bigger statement than some hollow words. My guess is that they're not going to change the business model of us being self sustaining and personally I'm alright with that. The revenues we make can and should sustain us at the top. It's just got to be spent well. Obviously they lost faith in Levy doing that and really it's hard to argue with.

Dunno about PSR room these days and stuff but could magical new owners actually spend that much on us? I see Newcastle aren't blowing loads anymore. Maybe they pay off the stadium debt? That'd be nice

Levy could be a barrier to a sale if he still wanted to stick around. Removing him means the new owners can appoint their own chairman, which is how it should be.

posted 3 weeks, 5 days ago

It's interesting seeing some of the uncertainty about Levy going who want to see a sale. FSG are doing a fine job at Liverpool using the same model as us. IMO get the right people making decisions and there's no reason we can't do similar in time

Yeah it'd definitely make a sale easier with him moved side

I think new owners could invest around £250m into the squad within psr/ffp based on old PSR figures.

We always had one of the largest headroom in the league in that respect.

But FSG has success with Franchises in the US and applied that to the premier league. ENIC have never had a track record.

Hmm yeah fair enough. Let's get the muricans in

Maybe the Lewis kids are more ambitious than their daddy and want to compete with the other big clubs. You've got to think that with Levy being pushed out, they want to go in a different direction and the direction that is different to what we've been used to is more investment in better players.

I have a feeling that the way last season panned out was an eye opener to the board and the real reason for these changes.

Would make sense with Levy suddenly being keen to tell the world we want to win everything. Like 'what the hell are you telling these guys?'

Levy getting wind that they want to show more ambition in future, he then says what he says in the vid with Vinai about wanting to win things to try and appease them, then the window doesn't live up to their expectations in regards to showing ambition and it leads to him getting sacked. I can see it.

Ultimately who knows, but I think it's got to be a promising sign in terms of wanting to show more ambition going forward, at least in the short term. Spurs best ITK now, Lee McQueen, says there are bigger changes to come which suggests at investment to me.

Maybe it’s the opposite? The kids have seen how much money levy has spent since the CL final (transfer fees and manager fees been high) and thought they want to stop this bald facker spending their hesitance

Or it could be the opposite to that. They see the Club World Cup going on and how we're going to get left behind if we keep doing Levy's 'strategy'. They see Harry Kane leaving even tho he didn't want to cos we never win anything and think, surely there's gotta be someone out there that won't fack this up so consistently?

posted 3 weeks, 5 days ago

(the inheritance is in the value of the club going up and up not 100m on assets that you can sell/write off anyway)

I literally posted my comment as an opposite to what other people were suggested (playing devils advacado). You are NOT allowed to do an opposite to an opposite as that is just the original point

posted 3 weeks, 5 days ago

Well that makes me the opposite of furious

posted 3 weeks, 5 days ago

Ooh. Another 100m plus the 150m spent this summer takes us right into the PSR limit. Apparently allegedly.
