I don’t think we are being sold but I do think they’ll be some sort of big investment coming in either by a minority sale or sponsorships

posted 2 weeks, 5 days ago

I could see Levy start selling his bit over time as he loses relevance but I don't see this huge big Saudi money thing people are imagining.

I think we should be preparing ourselves for some Saudi company name for our stadium though

Wouldn't want to see the club taken over by Saudis. I think the club is already in a good place financially that we would still be able to compete with the top teams without needing that route.

About them going? No. I've been critical and have wanted them to do much better and maybe after the way things were going this recent transfer window did I lose patience and want Levy gone. Doesn't mean I've wanted us to be Saudi owned instead.

I think a lot of them didn't actually think about what it means other than spending more money on players

I had actually defended Levy on a few occasions for spending more money recently and for the decision to keep Ange therefore resulting in a trophy, and then sacking him, even though he's admitted he didn't have anything to do with that since. Nobody is going to remember that though.

I haven't been that vocal about wanting him about but have been vocal in criticism for him and hardly a surprise after the way the window was turning out. They did manage to salvage it somewhat at the end.

First I've ever heard of this Charrington geeza. Who dat?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who is Peter Charrington?

Charrington is the director of ENIC and former CEO of Citi Private Bank.

ENIC holds a majority stake in Spurs, while Levy has a 29.88 per cent stake in ENIC itself.

Charrington, meanwhile, spent 26 years at Citi, running the Global Private Banking business, which was based in New York.

He is also a senior partner at Nexus Luxury, a company that runs the Albany resort in the Bahamas. That resort is co-owned by Tavistock Group, which is former ENIC majority owner Joe Lewis’ investment portfolio.

Additionally, Charrington is a senior advisor to One Equity Partners and is a board member at engineering companies Amey and Acteon, wealth management group Avaloq AG, investment group Saranac Partners. He is also a senior advisor to UST Global, a digital technology company.

This year, Charrington was appointed to the Tottenham board as a non-executive director, and now, in Levy’s absence, he has moved up into a newly-created chairman role.
