Just based on their home record - 1-1 v Charlton and 1-0 v Peterbrough, two of the lesser lights in the Champ this season I'd say, and they've only scored a goal a game.
And although they drew today, they were 2-0 up with 10 mins to go. That will feel like a defeat!
Our away performances and results have been awful this season, nothing that happened today fills me with any confidence for Tuesday night.
Hope I'm wrong.
The fact that we won doesn't fill you with confidence? There's no hope.
We were hanging on against a poor side, forgive me if confidence isn't overflowing.
Oh come on TRR!!!! It was only Watford. Someone above (no prize for guessing who) said Watford will be the worst team to visit the Reebok this season.
Just waiting for his other persona to come on and say something about us conceding from a cross, despite it being universally reported as a fluke!!
Get a grip CEF. Watford are a poor team who got walloped by Derby. It's good how you use Birminghams previous results but then criticise others for suggesting based on watching a team and their results they are poor. As I said you can only beat what's in front of you. We were still all over the place at the back. We looked good going forward.
Sadly you still pick holes in what I say and this coming from the 'Chill out coyle will keep us up' guy. When you start to show some incling of understanding football I will take you seriously. Until then 'Chill out'
So so easy!!!
P.s. I have never typed the word you refer to, EVER!
P.p.s. I just added to LH's comment about Birmingham's result today. That is therefore singular, not plural.
But it's a win, something to build on. 3 points. Yes it wasn't great, but surely winning is better than losing as so confidence must have gone up. Granted not a lot, but surely a small increase.
Was at the game and am far from happy. A win is a win but the second half performance was awful...A half decent team would have clawed back a result against us..fortunatley Watford looked a poor team esp first half.
We should have been out of sight at half time but played like strangers for most of the second half. I have no idea what OC says in his half time team talks but it doesnt work for us .
Maybe the players will get confidence from the win, but watching today reminded me of the Blackburn home match last season. Two set piece goals, didn't create any chances in open play and at the end we were being outplayed but just managed to hang on.
For the fans to have increased confidence we need more than just one win.
We shall see on Tuesday. I was at a loss as to how they could be so poor second half though....
I don't care what words you typed that was your stance. I agree with TRR a win is a win. You take confidence but after two weeks the same frailties were there for all to see and you can't play Watford every week. We have Birmingham next who will be a sterner test.
OC gives them a right ol slaggin at half time .....sadly it's all in Scottish and only Wylde can understand him. That's my explanation for second half shenanigans.
coyles teams dont look fit they have no confidence ,good ist half, but only against a poot watford team ,2nd half rubbish.im still not convinced coyle is good enough,
Thats the issue. Came out all guns firing and should have been 3-0 up at half time. Second half and all the momentum gone and ended up hanging on...
"OH" and still no clean sheet, after 2 weeks sorting it out.
Hard to keep a clean sheet when crosses start flying into the net, all the defensive work in th world can't legislate for that.
Watford goal was a fluke to be fair and Bogdan han nothing to do all afternoon.. even so shouldnt have been beaten by it.
If they have been working hard for the last 2 weeks Im afraid it didnt show much.
Lumpit Bogdan watched the ball pass him twice. Once Ngog cleared off the line and the other rattled the crossbar.
You feel sorry for Southampton in the Prem ....but I wonder who would have let more goals in at this point us or them. I don't know what's happened to us in just a few months...we were an established Prem side. Now pub teams give us a good run.
I thought Ngog looked lively before injury. No better in front of goal but a lot more mobile than Sordell. Mavies went missing for the first 75 mins. Eagles was his usual industrious self. SKD proved doubters again by scoring and was lively but then missed a sitter. Spearing motm
Less said about defence the better
For the fans to have increased confidence we need more than just one win.

Of course, but you can only win one game at a time...
It's clear that the team knows our poor clean sheet record and they get nervous about it when closing games out. I think that's only natural really. Maybe a scrappy win like this will help us out in becoming more confident. Yes, Watford aren't great, but they are a reasonable test. I thought Vudra (blonde haired kid) looked very lively for them in te second half and on the whole we dealt with their threat quite well.
Their goal was a fluke, but there were a few hairy moments we we cleared of the line twice. I do think we created chances all game though. Mavies and Afobe worked a good opening where Mavies missed, Mavies again had that opportunity to square to Pratley but took too long. Eagles looks a real threat and I thought Alonso backed him up well as a supporting full back.
Alonso put a great ball through for N'Gog and we almost scored there in the 2nd half.
I've heard loads of fans and pundits say that games in this league are scrappy and need to be ground out. Once we get a foothold in the table - hopefully by Xmas - we can start to grow in confidence and play some better football. But for now, I'd take scrappy wins like this.
Birmingham will be a tough test, yes, but we usually up our game vs decent opposition and I hope we rise to the occasion on Tuesday night too.

Agree with all your post bar that. We have been ok at home and awful away nothing to do with quality of opposition as Hull are better than Watford
