The only thing I will say to that is don't listen to Adrian Durham. He is paid to provoke. Sounds to me like he has done his job.

Sorry to tell you but the real idiots here are those that actually listen to Adrian Durham.
Speaking of great English midfielders where is Parker these days?

If its on in the background at work then I hear it
He never provoked me I just wondered if the entire younger generation were as stupid as him, going by most of these replies apparently so
I would say Sheringham is the best Spurs player I have seen.
Best English midfielder I have seen? I'd have to go with Durham on that one.
Klinnsman was better than Sheringham
gascoigne and gascoigne.
described by alex ferguson as the only world class english player since the world cup.
it would have been better if i'd put "since 1966"
Best spurs player i ever saw life was Gazza,vs Portsmouth Fa Cup 91, best England Mf ever, either Gazza, scholes,Ince.
Best Spurs player I've seen; Modric and Ginola
Nico Clausen.
Geoff Thomas.
Best English midfielder... Gascogne without any doubt.
Although the best english performance by a midfielder in my view was Owen Hargreaves against Portugal at the World Cup. After facing constant criticism the boy single handedly kept England in the game busting a guy back and forth whilst the others (possibly Gerrard too?) let there heads drop.
Best spurs player...ledley king his positioning was exceptional I will never see a better defender in my lifetime.
Who would you say is the best Spurs player you have ever seen (and not on youtube either lol) and who is the best english centre midfield player in your opinion ?
---------
in terms of ability probably Ginola.
all england midfielders are craap
Durham is a plank of the highest order, what a
Gerrard isn't the best midfielder to play for England
Oh and Ginola easily, hands down
English CM, tough! growing up during the 90's and 2000's we had good and bad CM's! gonna go with Gazza
Ginola and Gascoigne for me.
Mentions for Klinsmann, Ted, Berba, Lineker, King, Mabbs, J***s <spit>, Paul Allen, Modric, Bale and Anderton.
Too 'young' to fully appreciate Waddle and Hoddle in our colours, or any of the other Pleat/before sides really
HRH
I grew up watching Spurs with Anderton, Ginola, ect! I'm too young to remember the 'glory' days
Slim pickings really Thudd - mainly barren years between the early 90s and mid 00s.
Ronny Rosenthal the marquee signing
Scholes is easily the best English midfielder I've seen. While it's true you may have a very young generation who think Sky invented football, I've found some of the old fans of the game to be just as sensationalist with embellished tales of older players in fits of blinkered nostalgia. Just listen to the Sandy clown fella bleat on about the 60's or Greaves or Hoddle.
Did we mean Spurs CM's?
If non Spurs I would say growing up (paused and wait for abuse)
Scholes and Beckham
Rose-tinted spectacles methinks. You can't compare the two eras. Greaves wasn't as good as you remember him, neither was Charlton. There's plenty of class, class players in the modern era, Bale probably being one of them.
Gerrard's not the best midfielder to have ever played for England, but who's to say is? It's all subjective, each person will have a different opinion. I'd argue Beckham, for a period, was a world class player with the best crossing and freekick taking ability in the country if not the world, someone who inspired and dragged the team to victory on numerous occasions, others would suggest he was an overrated, publicity seeking, vain prima donna who's not half as good as he thinks he is.
We all remember the past fondly, but nostalgia blinds us. Our team in the last few years has been as good as it's been in my lifetime. Bale, Lennon, Modric, VDV, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Kaboul, they'd all be close to my Tottenham XI. To say that no-one playing at the moment would make it into teams of the past is ridiculous/
