Think that would be ex Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn
if that's given for a foul anywhere else on the pitch - we wouldn't have a game of football...
Unless Atkinson recants his decision then we lose Bale V Reading.
Whilst a blow, I think if he does not play then it should not stop us winning against Reading. COYS
He made the most of it, hence a dive. A hand across the chest doesn't make you fall forward either. It was a clear dive.
Hernandez......................Possibly but it was not a dive & did not deserve a booking!
He won't change his mind on a yellow. Wasn't a penalty, imo, but this is what makes diving and simulation such a hard thing to deal with.
Jermaine Defoes dive earlier in the game was a lot more deserving of a yellow.
like you say, his reputation goes for him these days. I think I saw someone say his last three bookings were for 'diving'? Referees are a bit trigger happy with it these days as it's been built up so much in the media.
There must be a pressure point in the side of the knee which makes both feet go backwards if you tap it gently
Thunderkiss.............................Thought I recognised the voice!
D'Jeezus...............................He can recant a yellow if he determines he made a mistake.
Agree with Defoe one though, definitely a dive!

i thought it was a dive. a deserved booking for bale, and should be fined by the club

number-eight............................................If you look closely there are two points of contact, the rest is down to Bale's pace & impetus!
It would of been a soft pen but seen them given, however it was defenetly not a booking shame cause he's out of the reading game now...

Notice the scousers are out on here today..........................
Walnut was given a penalty for going down for less than that a couple of weeks ago. Complete joke.
The big howler from the ref today was not booking Defoe for his Bale impression.
Afternoon Sandy..................................
These days if there is contact then its deemed a peno irrespective of whether the player could have stayed up if he wanted. On that basis this bale incident was a clear peno.
how come his feet went backwards after someone brushed his knee? it was suarez-esque, there was contact, but it was how he dealt with it that made it a dive. and any dive (simulation) is a booking in my book.

Greavsie.. take the blinkers off pal that was a dive. Minimal contact doesn't mean he goes down, like an earlier poster said if that was a foul anywhere on the pitch there wouldnt be a game of football.
Bale wouldn't go down like that anywhere else on the pitch I.e it's simulation.
Glad he's being called on it now.
I want to know the difference between a player falling over and "simulation". Bale might have gone down easily but there was contact and he didn't emphasise the fall, fake injury, or appeal for the penalty.
It seems every time he falls over he's risking a yellow card. It's open season for defenders to kick the shiite out of him now.. ridiculous situation perpetuated by media bias imo.
