its a much bigger game for Liverpool than it is for United these days. United will be focussed on 3 points and number 20, nothing else.

That'll be why you sing about us every match...
You can speak for yourself - I certainly don't finish a season and judge it by whether we've beaten you lot.
In the 80's United had a very good record against Liverpool. We beat them a lot. Liverpool can't quite raise their game like we did though.

He hasn't had a decent game for us since he gave the pen to Berba.

Should think yourself lucky, getting your club sung about at a game against Galataseray is as close as you get to the champions league these days

A staple of the It's A Cup Final For Liverpool But Just A Game For Us cop-out is the idea that Liverpool raise our game For United.
It's absolute bobbins, some of our most abject performances are against United.
Does Darren still not understand the difference between a question and a statement.

Haw.
i actually burst out laughing when they collided mugs
And some of your better performances have been against United.
JSX, why do you say that?
Liverpool generally raise their game against United at Anfield, not so much at Old Trafford.
so if we win its our cup final if we lose we are crap, makes sense
lots of teams play crap in the cup final.
And some of your better performances have been against United.

Yes. That's football!
Siempre, we don't really, United are just strangely fragile at Anfield sometimes. The game at Anfield in 09/10 (N'Gog last minute) was an example, it's rare to see United so timid.
Come to think of it, later that season we went to OT and once we scored there was only one team in it, United dominated us and we had no answer.

I can't see us beating Utd at the weekend, we both have a leaky defence but Utd are more clinical. Im hoping for a draw but got a feeling we will be going him with no points. Add to that im certain there will be some dodgey refereeing.

That's the magic of that cop-out.
When I was on Facebook, you could see the magic in action. Every time we played United, my news feed was chock full of United fans gibbering about the game; how the nerves were kicking in, the hope they'd beat us etc.
Then, if they won, the gloating was unbearable, but if they lost, they had the "pfft, it's only a game to us but it's your cup final" excuse ready.
United gloating = good.
Liverpool gloating = small time.
United pay Liverpool too much respect at Anfield. They do seam to raise their game for this fixture more than any, in my opinion. The players just want seem to want it more than any other time I watch them.
Add to that im certain there will be some dodgey refereeing.

I'm just hoping we'll have a normal game with absolutely no controversial decisions. A man can dream.

Disagree.
We're awful against you as often as we're good. We always give Chelsea a really good game, there've been few times over the past 7 or so years where we're poor against them.
Everton too, thank God. We usually play well against them, Moyes has an atrocious record against us, long may it continue.
I mean at Anfield. At Old Trafford you are crap.
We aren't always rubbish at Old Trafford. Howard Webb was motm giving Berba a pen and I remember a 4-1 gaame?
Other than that we have underperformed.
Yeah, you've had the odd good performance but usually you aren't very good.
It's absolutely crucial to have the dominant midfield on Sunday. Saurez and Van Persie are both in excellent form and so long as they get a decent supply i can see them both scoring. We just have to stop his supply, although that's easier said than done.
