I'm not down on Ozil, Seebs. I like him.

He just doesn't look right recently.

Ahh I see. Yeah, after the initial excitement over Emery coming in, I'm starting to get a bit twitchy over the kind of players we seem to be targeting.

I know we're not in for established names, and understand that. Just finding it all a bit underwhelming nonetheless.

"Underwhelming", what names were you looking for? I think we're doing ok, still need another CB, creative mid and winger for definite though.

Not looking for any particular names really. Just all these 29-30 year old dudes... seems like we've swung from one extreme to the other.

Yeah get where you're coming from. But i'm kinda glass half full, in that we're addressing positions we need, rather than anything luxury.

Very excited about Torreira though. If he catches on to the PL quick, he has the potential to be as good or even better than Kante.

Aye, a solid young CB, someone like Banega in CM and then if we sell on some dross we should go luxury on a winger. Coupled with the new change of coaching staff this would be a perfect summer

Personally think we needed to go that way to compete over the next year or two, then we can start to find a more happy medium as we need less of an overhaul each summer after.

As it is we need to buy quite a lot so we need to be pragmatic and balance the squad out, then hopefully in future years we'll only need to bring in a few players and we can spend more to get players in their peak years.

Mate, i would LOVE Banega to join us. But i doubt it.

Agreed. Remember when "they" told us Wenger would leave us in great shape?

We've signed 4 players and we're still talking about signing at least 2 more to get into shape for a top 4 fight.

I mean, there's a lot of talent here, but a lot of dross too and it's not very well balanced at all.

Gen question:

Who left their respective squads in worse condition when they left... Wenger, or Ferguson?
