I don't buy this story. To have one player deciding to sit back after we take the lead, yes possible. I give you even 2 or 3. But to have the entire team synchronised and deciding to not push anymore, that to me comes from orders/instructions. Maybe not clear order, but nonetheless, still orders.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Listen to Mikel Arteta himself. He confirmed that he didnt said to play deeper.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Every time he is questioned on this he says he doesn’t tell the players to play deep. So either he’s a liar or his players don’t trust him, which is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Plain and simple some of our players are naive. Some of our players arent on the required level and passengers for most of the game.
I think we were very unlucky to lose this game. United are a very poor team but with individual class.
How is Elneny still starting in our MF even thought every knows he is not of the level.
He has been at the club for what 5 years.
We lack serious amount of quality throughout the team. We need 2 midfielders because the options we have are terrible and we need 2 strikers because the ones we have are finished
Utd were facking rubbish. We lost because we are still scared of old Trafford.
I don't recall seeing one player protesting when them were checking Smith rowe's goal. Not one player protested when Maguire pulled Tomi down.
We could go down to 8th place before our game against Everton on Monday if Spurs, Man U and Wolves all win. That will put a lot of pressure on us. Spurs have p1ss easy home game against Norwich this weekend and Man United are home to Palace. I expect both of them to win. Wolves are home to Liverpool though.

It doesn't work like that.
Arteta trains them every day and has established this type of defending. Sitting back is what he has taught his team for years now. So he doesn't need to tell them. Its automatic. They sit deep after taking the lead to try to counter. Its typical Moyesy.
Partey is a bigger flop than Pepe.

This is rubbish. We don't play like that just against Man Utd. We do the same in all our away games incl the ones we win like Leicester for example. The only differnce is that some teams don't have the quality to break down low block or whatever defending deep is called these days. Man Utd and other top teams do.
Moyes built a career at Everton doing that and finishing mid-table.
