Nah....not just that. Antonio has a good technique and can outplay players.
Do Man City and Liverpool have so many physical players? But they seem to be doing alright.

Bernd Leno is back in training.
A lot of teams just have a lot more aggressive players than us.
Our most physical player is Xhaka in MF. Partey is soft and not the all commanding MF we though he would be.
We also need to rehash the forward line where we have wasted 180M on players that have not taken us to the next level.
2 midfielders and a new striker and winger are essentially.
Arteta is obsessed with defensive signings but the next few windows have to be all about the attacking side
There are only two u21 teams left in the entire EFL Trophy, Arsenal and Chelsea. They've just drawn each other in the next round.
Arsenal at home, match on the week commencing January 3rd.
Liverpool have incredibly physical players
City hoovered up all the most technically gifted players, and are incredibly well managed by Pep
The only attacking player signed by arteta in this squad is Odegaard right? Kinda pathetic when you realise
Both teams have players that have that little extra on a consistent basis. We havent these players apart from our goalkeeper

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But at the same time he has to try and get ESR, Saka, Martinelli, Balogun into the team, our record signing came just before Arteta and our captain is the main striker who got a massive contract under Arteta.
Attack was always behind defence and midfield in the rebuild. This summer will be the time most likely.
We have to do something upfront as Laca will likely leaving the club.
Personally, I don't think changing the players upfront will improve us. At least not players we can afford.
We should focus on establishing an attacking style first.
Hopefully Deej was kinda weird how quickly the Calvert Lewin links resurfaced after we lost on Thursday. Was about an hour after the game.
Thing is, we still need a couple of midfielders too

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree and disagree.
Arteta clearly wants a striker who can hold the ball up, play with his back to goal, link-play, is aerially dominant and is a good technician.
The problem is, we don't really have a striker of this profile and we won't be getting one until Summer at best.
So, until then, he needs to find a way of getting the most out of the options he has available, which he isn't doing. He needs to adapt his style of play in this regard, especially in an attacking sense.
The style of play he's implementing now isn't benefiting us. We are ranked 18th for chances created in open play, which is a disgrace frankly.
Calvert Lewin
Martinelli
Balogun
Would people be happy if these were our options next season? I'm only including Calvert Lewin because of the recent links
Hmm not sure.
DCL is coming back from a long-term injury, so providing he doesn't come crocked, he'd be an excellent signing. But we need to see how he is when he's back from injury.
Martinelli is someone we all love, but I don't know if he'll ever get his chance regularly as a CF, so I have a feeling he won't be used centrally often. I see him more as a wing forward.
Balogun is clearly too good for the U23s, but we don't know if he's good enough to be a PL player. He needs a loan. If he does well on loan, then I'd consider using him as a 3rd choice striker option.
I'd also consider throwing Jonathan David in the mix as well.

If he really wants a striker who can link up and hold the ball, he'd have used Laca far more because he's the closest player who matches that profile.
As I said, establish the playing style first even if it's with sub standard players then once you upgrade, all will come together
Balogun is clearly too good for the U23s, but we don't know if he's good enough to be a PL player. He needs a loan. If he does well on loan, then I'd consider using him as a 3rd choice striker option
--------
Why is Eddie getting playing time ahead of Balogun. Especially since apparently he refused a contract extension on Wednesday?
Hmm nah I don't think so. The problem with Laca is, whilst he can hold the ball up, he doesn't have the pace, speed, height or athleticism to get into the box, get on the end of crosses or create space for himself. Which is a problem for us under our current way of attacking.
We clearly have a method of attacking, but it's not optimal and our players don't seem fully comfortable with it.
Arteta needs to be a bit more flexible.

I don't know, but it's a pet peeve of mine. Arteta did the same last season too with Bellerin, who told Arsenal he didn't want to be at the club anymore, yet he was still getting minutes/starting games.
I don't get why he does this either.

Probably think it is more beneficial for Balogun to be playing 90 every week rather than 10 every couple of months.
For god's sake, laca is blowing holes into the ozone layer after 30 minutes. He's next to useless after he's exerted himself.
I would prefer Laca to Auba currently.

That doesn't matter. We can start to create a style of play now and then upgrade Laca later. Because as it is, if we wait to sign the "perfect" striker before defining the style, then we might have to wait months before it can work smoothly. Also that would help identify other potential points. Imagine if the midfield or wingers can't adapt to that system?
