Still can't get my head around those penalties for Liverpool compared to Havertz v Newcadtle, Jesus v Villa, Havertz v Liverpool, Saka vs countless teams.
For us it has to be a leg breaker, for them just the slightest touch and a dive as an afterthought.
Hazertz Vs Utd was given by the ref and overturned despite contact and a clear trip because Havertz didn't go down quick enough
Plus the Villa one to win them their game, never in a million years are we getting that.
100% guarantee if that was an Arsenal player in the Jota incident it would have been a yellow and no penalty.

Like I say, it feels like most stuff in the grey area where they sometimes given, sometimes not - always go against us but go for certain teams.
The fact that VAR overturned one the ref had given despite clear contact initiated by the defender makes it worse for me.
They talk about not re-reffing games and going with the on field ref unless it is clear and obvious until it is us....

My feeling is that not the best team will win the title but who gets the most ref./VAR decision on their side especially in big games.
Even Liverpools first pen given in favour for Diaz was a pen. He dived.

Bassey also fouled Nketiah at the start of the move that led to their first.

As Peebs will tell you, the PL title was won after that decision in Liverpool vs Spurs...
After all Peebo has got that spot on.
Liverpool fans will point to the Odegaard handball and be utterly certain the refs are against them
Refs aside, Liverpool were pretty brilliant last night I thought. As Castor loves to say, they were relentless.
Hopefully they drop some points without Salah for a month. Though just checked and they only have 2 more PL games in Jan

They play with pace and run onto defenses. Not all comes off as they are also wateful. But they create chance after change and the pressure on the opponents defense is immense. They urge them to mistakes. They slowling getting to Liverpools old style back when they were in their prime.

Yep indeed, obviously we are having a bad run and they a good one (so not the best time to compare) but compared to our predictable, static attack it's like night and day.
If Nunez could finish they would have got about 8 last night, but tbf to him he makes great runs and has got a big leap for headers as well. Hopefully he doesnt learn to finish as if he did they've basically got a more mobile Haaland.
Came in with the team 5th and on a winning run. Left in 20th just 15 games later with only 2 wins
What a disastrous decision. They deserve it for the League Cup shenanigans.

The Jan winter break has worked out perfectly for them.
Salah will hardly be missed with their fixtures in Jan
