I just think eze would be elite in MF, with his dribbling skills.

Rice looked real sluggish. Did he get injured for England? Hopefully he's back on form for City

Eze can take this team to the next level if he plays in central areas.

Mosquera and Calafiori were superb. Another clean sheet. Thought Zubi was decent but he and Rice haven’t clicked. Zubi-Merino with a no 10 in front would probably more balanced.

Well the idea was to replace Trossard with Eze against teams who sit deep and Rodrygo to replace Martinelli in away matches against teams who press high.

Which is why it was sensible to start Martinelli. But as it showed against Liverpool you can't play Merino in that creative role and it was Trossard who played the nice ball for Marti for the opener.

Rice/Zubi/Merino does not work.

Rodrygo isn't that guy, overrated and expensive. There are others that could do the job, like that Kevin guy

I'll be alright with Barcola instead.

I don't know if it was Edu or Arteta or Ayto who thought that Merino is Fabian Ruiz when they were trying to buy a midfielder.
