The last thing I will say on the Tiger issue, is that as a Tiger fan myself I now hope he doesn't win this tournament. As it will forever have an mark beside it after the events of last night/today

It didn't come to light he had broken the rules until the TV interview after he had signed his card

Where he dropped it wasn't really the problem. It was why he had dropped it there and he didn't admit that until after he signed his card. You are not allowed to gain an advantage and he admitted he had gone back two yards to gain that advantage when the rule is that you have to drop the ball as close as you can.

2 yards back I suppose could be sorta construed as getting the ball as close to the original position at a stretch given it's a drop BUT Tiger since admitted it was to gain an advantage, something that wasn't known before he signed the card

6 time major winner Faldo has come out and said he should disqualify himself. I agree and I've backed him

Watney finishes with a bogey but still a good round to take him to -1. If only he had opened up with even an average round and he would be right bang in it. Still could nick a place if he goes low tomorrow.

What do we think the leading score will be tonight? I'll be surprised if it reaches more than -8, and I reckon there'll still be a good 20 players within 4 or 5 shots of the lead.

This is confusing now. What is two shot penalty for? Is it because he "gained an advantage?" Or is it because he dropped the ball in the wrong place? If it's the first option, then I understand where you're coming from now. This is as Woods has made a mistake and inadvertently brought it up in an interview. After signing the card he should get DQ'd

But if it's the second option, and the organisers didn't penalize Woods for just 'dropping the ball in the wrong place' then they've dropped a clanger. This is because they told him what he had done was fine, therefore he can sign his card, to then realise they've got it wrong in the first place. If that's the case, Tiger has had some rotten luck by signing his card before taking the penalty.

Bear in mind, I agree that no matter the situation he should be disqualified.

I just didn't agree with the comment that it's 100% his fault, especially if the second situation has happened. If it's the first, then he's made a balls up of it.
