Just found a pointer. The amount of times the commentators have said 'that's unlucky from Marco' and 'I think Judd Trump has got lucky there' amazes me to say that the match is only 8-7 to Trump.

Great performance from Selby. As the cliche goes, take one match at a time...................................

that bottom half has right opened up for Ding

Selby out then. Wonder how many people have lost a few quid on that bet?

I've stopped betting on snooker after my dismal attempt at prediction last year's champion.

KIng has gone 2-0 up on Ding, albeit with an outrageous fluke in the second frame. Could turn out to be one of those sessions where the run of the balls go for King.

Evening kinsang, you've been fairly quiet this tournament?

Hi RKW - yeah, not really had much chance to watch a lot of the opening week, so catching up a bit this weekend. Been quite a few shocks so far, although Trump wraps up victory after most were probably expecting a tight final session.

I jokingly mentioned how the bottom half has opened up for Ding - maybe I should have said King!!!

A few of us were saying earlier this week that we feel Ding will end up a player remembered as one who "didn't live up to his potential". Unfortunately.

RKW - I'm not so sure. He's still fairly young and got a strong all-round game. No player will admit in public to looking at the draw, but I'm sure he will be thinking - 'if I perform, there's a decent path to the final'. Of course he has to get past Mark King, although he's just made a century to get back to 1-3. Gave the table a thump also - showing a bit of aggression as if to show he's annoyed at being 1-3 down, which maybe no bad thing.

I guess there is a lot of expectation on him, but I will still stick with my own prediction that even if he doesn't win it this year, I will be shocked if he doesn't win at least 1 WC, and for me, probably more than one. Time will tell.

P.S. Good result for your boys this evening.

I hope he wins it one day. What's his path through to the final then? Obviously King this weekend, then in the QF and SF?

Yes very good result for us, if Newcastle were a few points closer to the drop zone I'd fancy them to go down. Think Wigan or Villa will though, especially with them playing each other on the final day of the season.

Looks like it's Snooker for and hour and half before MOTD at 10:30PM normal time it seems.

King 3-1 Ding

Wasn't this the score like 20 minutes ago?

Hawkins in the QF, then either Milkins, Walden or White in the semis. But given it could have been Allen, Selby, then Robertson, even allowing for the anyone can beat anyone factor, you can't help but think that the draw has given him a great chance.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. If he can come out at 4-4 tonight, he will be happy. Funny how we thought the bottom half looked tasty, but the top seed have fallen by the wayside, and now the top half looks tough with Ronnie, Bingham, Murphy and Trump still all there.

Agree it pretty much looks like Wigan or Villa, although Sunderland and Newcastle will both want a win to make sure. Newcastle have been poor this season, shows you the thin line between teams having a great season one year and a poor one the next.

Suarez thing has been done to death, but did you feel harsh or not?

posted on 27/4/13

As a neutral, I'd sell Suarez personally. Sell him off to Bayern/Juventus for £50M (the reported price) and then try and improve the team off that cash + his initial budget which would be around £15M I'd guess, so £65M to sign a new CB, RW, St and possibly another couple of back-up players, maybe CB and ST.
