Tough for Ding but after being 3-0 down I reckon he'd take 5-3 behind after this session.

RE Suarez, he's an idiot but I'd rather have him in my team than not. Harsh because of the inconsistencies with the FA - Defoe gets a yellow but Suarez 10 matches? Racism issue, John Terry's goes to court - four matches. Suarez 8 matches. How do they justify that?

Ding with the century, and the frame.

Just realised looking at the PL table, Stoke were in the thick of the relegation battle just 2/3 weeks ago, now after the 2 wins recently to leave them on 40 points which is the benchmark to see you safe, they could still end up with a top half finish.

Ooh! Foul! Clips the Pink ball with the Spider, unlucky King, unfortunate there.

If Mark King wins this match, what a chance for one of the lesser known players to make the final. All of a sudden it's the top half of the draw that would look tougher.

Regarding Suarez, I know the Dutch decision has nothing to do with the English one, but everyone knows he got 7 for that, and if he got less than that then questions would have been asked. I think whatever the decision not everyone would agree, but anything from 6-10 matches is what I expected, so 10 was harsh, but probably still fair.

I agree that the inconsitencies of the FA reek, and they need to make some common sense decisions and have some common sense rules. I would rather they took a strict line with everyone, because generally I think footballers get away with quite a bit.

Anyway, back to the snooker, and good sportsmanship from King.

Why shouldn't it just be 3 matches though? There are 3 officials, the referee didn't see it, surely the linesman closest to this incident did? Exchange words with the referee, red card, violent conduct, 3 games, simple as.

King going back to two in front.

I think it's the action of trying to bite someone, which isn't a natural one in any sport, not just football. As I said before, there will always be disagreement on the punishment, but Suarez basically needs to let his football do the talking. I think Liverpool should surely have the resources to make sure he gets the right help also.

Anyway, King goes up 4-2, I too was surprised that Ding put the snooker back rather than take the red to centre.

Yeah Ding not going for that red baffled the commentators and me as well. Didn't see it live but saw the replay and was surprised.

Even tho Ding has knocked in back to back tons, I still don't think he's totally tuned in tonight. Mark King has got him exactly where he wants him, smiling.

How did Ronnie do this afternoon anybody? I was out and missed it (back to Ding's usual face)

If King can clinch this frame and take his form from today into tomorrow, he will come out comfortable winner in and around 2 hours IMO.

Ding has been out of sorts tonight, even with those 2 centuries. I think it was just a lack of concentration with that red, seemed to get caught up in the moment with the laughter. Big frame coming up.

Neither Ronnie or Carter played that great, and 5-3 to Ronnie was about right. Ronnie opened up a 3-0 lead without doing much, and then Carter finally took some chances, which he hadn't been doing earlier.

Cheers kinsang

Put the schedule up for the quarter finals, they begin on Tuesday. Still four second round matches to be decided.

Big frame this - like I said earlier after being 3-0 down I think Ding would happily walk away from this session 5-3 behind going into tomorrow afternoon's session.

Well, MOTD at 10:30 so only really gonna be watching Snooker and be online for another 10 minutes or so before checking off a good day of Snooker overall.

Okay LRF

Not been many late night finishes so far this year. There was one sort of last night, around 23:15 it ended between Murphy and Dott.

I like Mark King though. Mark Selby my personal favourite in Snooker but he follows in 2nd because he isn't the greatest player of all time but rarely makes mistakes, puts his opponent under pressure as often as possible and he is a tough customer, a tough player, to actually beat. Like his cueing as well as his tactical side to the game.

Anyway, gonna sign off now after a great day of Snooker, see you in the morning guys.

Mark King leads 6-2, play just finished for the day.

See you all tomorrow.

Wow, Ding really went off the boil there. King goes 6-2 up, playing some tough snooker to which Ding had no answer. Ding also missed quite a few simple balls, be interesting to see how he comes out tomorrow.

Yes, Selby OUT! Can Ronnie make it 5? Possible semiwith Judd , what a match that could be, shame it's not the final.

Ronnie looks in the right frame of mind this year, I can't see him being beaten.

Morning people

All eight remaining second round players are in action today over three sessions. We start with Bingham v Davis and Milkins v Walden. Those four also return at 1900 tonight for the second session of their matches.

Sandwiched in between are the second sessions of the matches between O'Sullivan and Carter (5-3) and Ding v King (2-6).

An enjoyable day ahead I'm sure.
