Game of Thrones vs Breaking Bad

Nah, some of the books are split in to 2 parts, the 4th series is going to finish the '3rd' book, then series 5 will be book 4, then s6 & 7 will do book 5 pt1 & 2

I think I read something different. The next season covers the second half on book 3 ( A Storm Of Swords). Then since in books 4 and 5 GRRM chose to split his world, (so 4 was based on Kings Landing, 5 the North and beyond the wall) they are going to combine the two into one season. How they will cover the last two books though since they are still being written is anybody's guess though.

I love the walking dead as well but i can see that getting cancelled in a few years. Although it has a huge fan base and the comics are really good, i think there's only so much they can do with it on tv before it gets repetitive.

I gave up with Dexter, it just
became formulaic and too far
fetched.

Yeah, it's a problem with shows like "Dexter" or "24". They follow a bit of a formulaic theme and interest often wanes when the novelty wears off. Mine waned with Dexter when this superhuman, superhero character became a clumsy, mortal one with all the emotional strings he attached himself to. I still followed it to the end though.

Hopefully if these shows do get cancelled it will done so they can have an ending.

Yeah D'J, I don't want another 'Lie to Me'

I thought that show was fantastic, and then they just ended it! to make room for American X Factor ffs!

I know that they've rushed some characters parts
for instance Bran and Danaerys story arcs at the end of season 3 are closer to the story arcs of book 4/5
also jamie got to kings landing before the purple wedding

Glad they finished Breaking Bad when they did. This should be a template for all other shows; finish on a high while the series is still good.

Wish they'd done that with The Simpsons at series 10, which incidentally is the only other show that I'd say is as good as BB.

Hate the way "Rome" got cancelled. I was a fan.

Well done fellow posters.

Your comments have reignited my interest to carry on with Breaking Bad

breaking bad has longevity as it were.

Game of thrones while a book series first as a tv show loses it way IMO. Its like lost in that it wanders off down a different path quickly IMO when it had a lot of potential. its got to follow the books but the season 1 game of thrones cast and set up could have stuck that way for more series had the books not been so followed.

Breaking bad was excellent. It kept me interested throughout. The first 3 seasons were excellent.

Homeland is being boring. Hopefully it will pick up.

Supernatural is ok, Sas good at the start.

The Dome, good debut session, but not sure how they will keep viewers interested for another season.

Criminal minds, getting boring now.

Lie to me, hood but repetitive.

Couldn't really get into Breaking Bad, but couldn't stop watching Game of Thrones. Spartacus was probably my favourite show, 3 seasons wasn't enough!!

What would you have changed? Only Robert & Ned were really casualties of the first series, and their fates were integral in the rest of the story line!

Has anyone watched the series called Banshee, trust me you have to watch it, how some of it was allowed on tele is beyond me, and what a totally gripping first series, cannot wait for the next one, I am yet to watch breaking bad so I cannot cooment on it, but as much of a fan as I am of game of thrones, the ending to the last series left me seriously deflated.

I'm a big fan of GoT and it's genre (fantasy) that doesn't usually work for me.

However, the only thing GoT has over BB is bo0b count! BB is probably the best series I've seen, the only real competition in my mind is West Wing.

Games of Thrones has its own line or beers, so it gets my vote.

There are still some Starks left! I thought it was an absolutely fantastic episode, I was a little disappointed that it was the Starks too, but that doesn't change my opinion that it was a damn fine episode.
