Maybe 1982
I took it as a dig at SAF.
The thing is Kagawa himself said he had not played well enough when given the oppertunity.

I'm sure Klopp only has the deepest respect for Ferguson but I doubt they know each other well. Kagawa on the other hand is his friend, I'm sure he just cares for him and his career.
Klopp seems to come across as a great guy, wasn't he a regular TV pundit before joining Dortmund and was supposed to be very charming. he also said after he got sent off in Napoli he watched the game with the groundsman and ate cake and drank tea with him, sounds like a lovely guy.
Yeah I agree with 1982 on this. I don't think he was being disrespectful to Fergie, and if it seems like I dig I'm not sure it was intended to be.
Greatteams
I could say that you would have to narrow it down a bit for me.
But I have a pretty good idea who you are on about. I guess Admins patience has finally snapped.

Fair enough.
Just down to interpretation really.
To be honest he kinda had a point with kagawa.
Unless you're going to play him where he needs to be played and build the team around him in a style that suits him (which we haven't done) then he's fairly pointless.
Put him back in Dortmund team and he'll look the same player he used to.
Well I guess we'll never see as we would never hire him.
I wanna know who's been banned!
Rob, LOL.
Someone better go on suicide watch.
His reputation is based on two good years at Dortmund - followed, as I noted, by a rapid return to mediocrity

3rd in the league, quarter finals of the cup, last 16 of the Champions League
Just because a team doesn't win three titles in a row it doesn't mean that they're mediocre.
Klopp would be the ideal candidate were we to sack Moyes.
His teams play with the type if pace and power on the counter wee ere once famous for, likes the use of a winger too.
As for his charisma and morals, how could you not want to play your best for him?
Has a certain flamboyance I doubt we'd ever go for though.
If that's mediocre then what must City be then?
Dortmund finished 13th the season before Klopp took over.
We finished 1st the season before Moyes took over.
"Based on what? I think if given the right club and resources in the future he has every chance to do well. For me it's his character that makes him, seems to breath life in his team."
Not much other than opinion manutd, I just think the team he had and the tactics he likes to play suited each other perfectly at that time, I'm just not sure myself if he can replicate that elsewhere.
It is purely opinion though, I've no real basis for it!
Unfortunately I don't think it will happen. I've a strong feeling Moyes will be there for another year or 2. By the time our board realize their mistake either Real or any other big team would have got him.
melton, the thing is, when you stay at a team long enough that's a conclusion you could come to about many managers.
I also think if he goes to a club with resources he'll be able to replicate that football a lot quicker than he did with Dortmund because the building process wouldn't take as long.

I'm guessing you're classing his two good years the ones in which he won the Bundesliga?
Before Klopp joined, Dortmund were pretty much a mid-table side since they had last won the title. In his first season, he took them to their highest position in about 5 years and has steadily built them into one of the best and most aesthetically pleasing sides in Europe and they're still a match for anyone as the Supercup at the start of the season showed where they dismanted Bayern 4-2.
Their first choice XI when everyone's fit can beat anyone however their problem has always been their squad depth which has been tested to the absolute limit this season, especially in defence and having IMO their best player missing for pretty much the entire season hasn't helped.
Klopp for me is an absolutely perfect fit for our club, even more so IMO than Pep or Mourinho. There's so much to like about him.
Klopp signings:
Reus - £15m
Gündogan - £4.8m
Lewandowski - £4.1m
Subotic - £3.9
Hummels - £3.6m
Piszczek - Free
"I just think the team he had and the tactics he likes to play suited each other perfectly at that time"
I know Darren, it is just a feeling I have with Klopp, nothing more. It's rare I don't follow a logical viewpoint on it, just in this case! I fully expect most to have a different viewpoint.
I would also love to see a proper Klopp/Jose rivalry.
Those 2 have so much charisma and charm I think we would see some incredibly entertaining interviews.
Also, Kagawa for less than half a million...
Fair play, melton. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Klopp would be one of my top three if I had the choice that we could potentially get.
Along with Simeone and Prandelli.
Although I may be wrong in assuming we could even get these managers. Especially when Madrid sack Ancelotti for not winning the treble.
I do like the look of Prandelli and Simeone but they haven't won much between them have they? That was always one of my problems with Moyes.
I just love Klopps enthusiasm, it's so infectious. Really does put a smile on your face.
I'm excited to see just how far Simeone can take Atletico. I can't see him leaving anytime soon but it'd be a real shame if he did, unless it was to us of course.
