They were filming Arsenal Fan TV outside my house again last night. All I heard for over an hour was "We want Wenger out"

I uploaded a video on Twitter last night for anyone that follows me and wants a giggle at the gooners melting down

Clattenburg seemed to be very generous to Chelsea last night. I haven't seen the highlights and was at the game - was it a foul for the pen? It seemed every little challenge was a free kick for them.

Much better performance but I expected that against a top side. Challenge now is repeating that and getting back to winning ways against Hull.

I'm not making a comparison between Firmino and Sturridge, it's chalk and cheese. The original question was should we sell Sturridge in this window for the rumoured 25m. My point was that he may just score us a crucial goal and return to form. And that it was better to have Studge, Firm and Origi in the hope that one of them hits a purple patch, rather than just the two of them.

I was there and as usual the crowd made it seem like a harsh pen but looking at ssn now and it's a defo pen. What lovers was doing getting sucked out like he did I don't know and even though contact was minimal it was a pen.

Must have been clear as he had no hesitation to give it. Good save, made up for the error from the free kick. Don't think I've seen an easier goal scored at Anfield this season, and we've let a few stinkers in.

Firmino had an off game but he gives 100%

Sturridge has many off games where he gives about 30%

Have you ever seen Sturridge tackle a player??

Not this season. He backs out of every challenge.

I like him as a goalscorer but I don't want tarts in my team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmino has had loads of off games, stretching back quite a while now. So he runs around a lot, big deal. He's still missing very good chances and should have won us the game. That's what he's there for if he's the focal point of our attack.

Firmino was in court this morning over his DD, hopefully he takes his medicine and can get back to playing well again!

He had ages for that chance that he ballooned over the bar, it was a horrendous miss. Need to beat hull on Saturday!

He is the best person in our squad to play that role in my opinion. Sturridge has been average for a year. Firmino has been average for 3 months

Migs was to blame for that goal. 100% his fault.

People say he would not of saved it if he was ready.

If he was ready and in position would Luiz have taken it quickly? I think he did take it quickly as he noticed our keeper was having a mothers meeting instead of being prepared. Useless!!

God how i pray we bin Mignolet & Lovren at the end of this season.

I think he's going to stick with both keepers. He obviously want Karius to be the long term no1, but he clearly isn't ready yet. So it's very unlikely that he'll bring another keeper in imo. Would just create more instability....

So you're rather have stability in being awful?

The most important thing imo, is to somehow find a player like Kante. He is so crucial to Chelsea, arguably their most important player. If he played for us, the defence wouldn't get exposed so often. It's easy to pin everything on the defence, and sure it's far from top class, but the midfield should be doing more to protect the defence.

2 minutes after that 2 drunk Watford fans walked over and sang "Can we play you every week" and "You're so sheet its inbelievable" and the gooners just stood there and said nothing in return

I just really loathe Mignolet & Lovren.

Three years of absolute dross and people still think there are some players in there.

This. Had we signed Kante instead of Chelsea I'd imagine we'd be occupying top spot right now. Maybe not 9 points clear as our defence is pretty shaky but N'Golo is an outstanding player.

I dont think Klopp wants that type of player in his holding midfield role. Although a player of that ilk will be great to have in the squad and we really should be targeting someone with those qualities.

I mean, we have played Henderson & Can in that role. Both arent known for their defensive abilities. Hendo can run around though.

We've also been linked to Paredes & Dahoud who are holding midfielders but their more your Carrick type than Kante type.

Who knows, maybe he'll see the need for that type of player.

posted on 1/2/17

Although i actually wouldn't mind a holding mid like Carrick if it means that we push Hendo forward to do the pressing and dirty work higher up the pitch.

His mindless one touch passing could also be an asset in a more congested area of the pitch.

posted on 1/2/17

Yeah, for me we should really be targeting that kind of Mascherano style defensive midfielder but I think you're right that Klopp believes otherwise. I think a lot of the cheap goals we concede on the break could be stopped with that kind of player dropping into the gaps that are left when we push forward in numbers.

The problem with Hendo is that he's not a top class defensive midfielder in the shielding the back 4 mould but we've definitely benefited from him playing deeper and have scored several goals from his deliveries into the box from deep (last night for a perfect example).

I'd like to see us go after a defensive midfielder and give Hendo more licence to get forward with Lallana being the other player in the midfield 3. What that means for Can and Wijnaldum's minutes I don't know, although with Europe likely next season this hopefully won't be as much of an issue.
