"Why do you keep saying Chelsea were poor?"
===========================================
Because they were. They nullified us well, but as an attacking force they were crap. They created pretty much nothing, like us. Two teams nullified each other and were poor for it.

I know exactly why Mourinho continuously beats Wenger, but Chelsea didn't have to be good yesterday to get the win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They chose to sacrifice their attacking talents because nuliffying a team is a 90 minute job that requires every players effort. They wernt poor at all and made the most of the few attacking chances they had.

Basically they chose to play ugly and sacrificed attack for defence before the match began, and you can see why: it worked absolutley perfectly. Maureen doesnt care how his teams win.

The Godfather

Unsure how one poor touch throughout a 90min game could be described “bottling” as it happens to the best of players at anytime.

Had JW scored there was nothing to suggest the outcome of the game would have been any different.

And if we would have drawn with Chelsea would that iinfluened your judgement on JW?

Not really (JW). His contribution would certainly have been perceived differently by some others (results can often hide a multitude of sins!) but IMO while not his best game in an AFC shirt he more than held his own.

Nothing to suggest the outcome would be different? An immeadiate equaliser after conceeding would have changed the game beyond recognition. It would have galvanised our players for a short time, probably would have seen another goal soon after. It would have forced Chelsea to open up, which would have meant a completly different game: a game we are more comfortable playing. Yes we still may have lost because attacking wise, Chelsea are very very good too but we would have had more of a chance than trying to break down a Mourinho team that has a 1-0 nill lead.

"happens to the best of players at anytime"

We cant keep saying this when it happens to our players fairly often at key moments. Like Ozils pen miss against Bayern, these key bottling moments affect the game and even subsequent performances in the season massively.

Perhaps if we were in better form previous to the match then he would have more confidence in that situation.

If we get a nice run of wins going after the international break we will kick start our season

agree with Godfather, if there was one player below par it might have been shirley.

Time to be honest with yourself. Chelsea beat us at a canter and there’s nothing to imply we would have acquired anything from the game but to single out JW for one poor touch, when the rest of his game was sound IMO is unfair.

If there has to be a scapegoat for losing the match it should be AW and no one else.

Agree with you. A key moment that was the handballing would have given us a draw probably. We were not far away from Chelsea. They had the better of the game because of these key moments that went for them.
