think about it last season the team was effectively Moyes side, Roberto didn't have time to affect the defence or change the style such as when they were in trouble the direct ball was the best option. This season we have all seen what is happening, players demoralised with the restrictions imposed on them resulting at times with such ridiculous sights as a free kick on the opposing penalty area boundary ending up in Howards hands. The bloke by his own comments just does not see the problem, I.E. mistakes have been made but there is nothing wrong with the tactics.

Did you actually watch Everton last season?

This "story" could have some legs. I doubt he would move from the Northwest, he has his head screwed on and comes across as very humble in his interviews and seems likea down to earth guy. He is the player Moyes should have gone for last summer, not Baines or Fellini.

manutddaredevil, well of course, hence my comment but there again unlike most of you lot with your expensive air and train fares, I practically live on our Cities Teams doorstep so it is easy for me.

He may as well go. Martinez is slowly destroying him, in my humble opinion, of course.

You gotta laugh when people were saying that Moyes was holding Everton back and that Martinez was the manager that Everton deserved.

Moyes did a good job and tainted his relationship with the fans with his actions last summer. As a club we showed what a more progressive manager could do with the players he had assembled.

Martinez is still the man in mine and many others opinions due to the way he wants to play the game. I would give him as much te as he needs as the fickle fans call for his head after a wobbly start to the season. He, as many forget had us top our EL group that many said was the hardest group.

How easy they forget

I accept some of what you're saying but a lot of last seasons progress couldn't have been made without the defence Moyes left behind and the organisation of the squad he built.

Martinez does have his teams play some good stuff but has always had difficulties with his teams defensive records. For him to be a successful Everton manager he needs to build a top defence with a lowish budget.

I assume you guys will be making near £70-80 million on Coleman and Barkley leaving over the next 6 months so hopefully Martinez spends it wisely and proves to people he can build a defence.

A lot of us never wanted him in the first place and made our views clear at the time.
Funny how many of your fans switch allegiance to Rodgers on and off depending on the Weather though. Oh, i see! its different for you. Sorry! I forgot.

Coleman as a right back and a new winger, who depends on what's available.

No he doesn't have to put in 10/10 Beckham like crosses every game to justify his position, but he puts in one out of ten crosses a game which does not justify his position.

He's also a poor defender, so his defensive qualities don't warrant a place either.

Well done he set up one goal and shanked a shot that went in off the defender in two games we were poor and fortunate to get six points.

That does not make him United standard - or the standard we aspire to, that is. It's players like Valencia being in the squad that have seen such a decline in our football.

- Great post! Exactly my thoughts.

Had a debate about this after the last United game about Valencia and there was some ridiculous comments trying to defend Valencia.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Valencia has to go, offers nothing, literally nothing. Just takes up space and passes sideways.

When he used to beat his opposite full back, protect his own fullback and put in good crosses he was a good player, he did a good job. He hasn't done this for nearly 3 years now.

The juries out on Martinez at the moment, but even when Moyes was in charge there were times when I questioned his position. We finished 17th at one point under Moyes, and when we finished 4th and really should have kicked on,we finished 11th the following season.

It seems many here have judged him on a wobbly Half season. Yet decide to forget all that he did last season and this year in Europe.

That's not my decision. But fans were looking for Pardews head after a few games, then they were happy......

I would give him until xmas next year as a minimum

I'm not sure about that,if the results don't start picking up I maybe changing my mind about his position. It wouldn't bother me so much if we were playing well but conceding, but we're awful all over the pitch,we seem to have lost our fight.
