Jonty, IMO he has not been good for the club whatsoever, he is the one who chose not to invest properly, ripping fans off with ticket prices he charged, he knew full well that fans would turn up no matter what, he proper did his homework & stuck in admin
was it twice, tried doing things on the cheap, whilst
giving us also a load of bull about explosion of activity
etc etc, and I can't believe that you think everything is cellino's fault...

IN OTHER NEWS: We are not for sale

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/31634877

Leeds United are "not for sale" despite actor Russell Crowe suggesting he may be interested in buying the club.

BBC Sport had learned that New Zealand-born Crowe, a Leeds supporter, would consider buying the club only if approached and with the fans' backing.

Leeds are owned by Eleonora Sport Limited but banned president Massimo Cellino has sold his personal stake in both the company and the club.

Chairman Andrew Umbers said there have been no approaches.

"The club is not for sale nor do the Cellino family wish to sell and nor have we received any approaches contrary to reports in the press today," said Umbers.

"The ongoing legal discussions between Massimo Cellino and the Football League are being completely misinterpreted.

"Leeds United is currently being successfully restructured, rebuilt, significantly invested in, with care and planning for the longer term with the Cellino family at its heart, for the benefit of its long-suffering and passionate fans, the city and its players and staff."

Oscar-winning Crowe, 50, had asked his 1.67m Twitter followers whether it would be a good idea to buy the Championship club.

He is already the co-owner of rugby league club South Sydney Rabbitohs, who play in Australia's National Rugby League.

I never said he has, but you;'re blaming Bates for 'messing' the academy yet you can't give any examples of what he has actually done.

The sorts of things you complain about are exactly the things Cellino has done i.e. cut staff.

I really don't get how this cutting staff is an issue?

Like VOF said, the club hasnt imploded.

no point having 100 staff for a business when 50 would do.

Rich, Harj is the one who brought it up, you'd have to ask him.

Bates actually grew the scouting side.

We won't see the result of the cuts till three years when nothing is comin through the academy

Clearly some on here have no idea about business.

If you purchase a company along with the assets you take on the liabilities

A Wup doesn't just happen.

The creditors will have been chasing payment for some time, the Wup is the last resort when Leeds refuse to pay.
The current owner has been in place for over a year, so have had plenty of time to address these before it has gotten to this stage.

Has anyone who is bleating on about these debts not coming forward under bates considered that maybe the reason that they were not coming forward cause bates was paying them back as agreed?

Sorry but the simple truth is that when you buy the company you buy the debts.

If these debts were hidden then that's different, but if you didn't know about them caus you couldnt be bothered to do a proper audit of what you were buying then tough look.

You bought it, you own it, you own the debts.

Simple really

............................................

A good point, but he's probably got both to deal with.

He's in a bit of a pickle eh...?

A pickle not necessarily all of his own making.

You know more than most and speculate less than most.

But I agree it is fun to do so.

Some speculate constantly without having any knowledge.

It is more fun picking holes in their comments.
