And episode 2?

posted on 29/5/22

Joking aside episode one is very very good, sets up the series nicely. Introduces us to all the characters, as well as some good cameos by original cast members. The only thing I don't really like is Leia (more noticeable in the 2 episode), but both the chase scenes are a little stupid and over dramatic - not quite "the spin" bad, but almost as cringe worthy imo. Other than that really good episode.

Aw man... I blissfully forgot "the spin"

You can fill in the blanks now Pun...

Episode 2 for me is more of the same (not a bad thing) and sets up nicely for the rest of the series. It feels like Star Wars which is a big plus for me. Like I guess it's sort of a redemption arc for Obi, but get a little too much of the episode 8 Luke in here for my liking but hopefully we are past that now and he starts going full on Jedi soon. Hope we see more of Kumail in the future, the right type of comic relief in SW. Nice change from Tatooine and hope we don't go back there for the rest of this story.

Happy to fill in the blanks now of course

Episode 1: A solid 7.5/10

I loved seeing Obi Wan's miserable daily routine and his guilt and regret over what happened with Anakin. This is what I was looking for in the show and episode 1 delivered on this part. The Inquisitors were OK and the amount of focus on Leia was unexpected, although the kidnapping explained why they were showing her so much, as they needed a way to get Obi Wan off the planet and doing other things. The best moment of the episode was probably the Owen and Obi Wan scene and it seems he told Owen that Anakin was killed, which is interesting. I think they are overdoing some of the scenes with Leia. She's not some kid prodigy but the episode made her look like she's ready to take over as head of the senate. The chase scene alluded to by other posters was easily the worst bit of the episode.

Ah and I know someone said they don't like Reeva, but personally I really like her and seems a nice counter to Obi, like this very dogmatic cultist, and I think we will learn more of her relationship with Vadar......maybe we will find out as some people are theorising she is one of the younglings right at the start, and I will go as far as saying maybe Anakin found her a little after that scene and feels the rage so basically adopts her, and this is why all the hate for Obi

I liked Ep 2 more. Cos as said, the story is setting up in a way I didn’t expect. We got to see a different place.
I know we saw Alderaan in Ep 1, but, didn’t really. Action still looks silly in parts. So now I’m questioning this directors vision for action.
And well, we will get into the confusion parts in a bit.
At first I didn’t like the ‘oh it’s him from eternals’, but he came through it at the end.
But, defo excited for what comes next.

She is 11 in this, and was important in the senate by 18?

Wasn’t that his way of explaining it. The friend he knew as Anakin was dead, and no Vader had taken over?

Nah, I think at the time he thought Anakin had died. He didn't know Palps had saved him.

Yup, she defo has to be one of the younglins. I was thinking they all turned. As the Grand Inquisitor said, ‘The Jedi are hunting themselves’
Something like that.

Something like that, and potentially my biggest issue with the series - the character feels like they should be older, and bigger, a 15 year old acting like she does is far more believable in ever sense (chase, attitude, talking with cuz), but would make an even bigger mess of the canon as it currently stands.

Maybe Obi-Wan wrecks him again.
I dunno, I never got that impression he thought he was totally dead. Vader went on a 20 year rampage, Obi-wan had to have know, now reconnected to the force, that Anakin was still alive.

What did you think if Eps 1 and 2 DJ?

posted on 29/5/22

This is only 10 years after, and I am not sure Vader has done much in that time. Kind of got the impression he is still on the road to recovery.

I kind of thought they were both slow and boring. Didn't like Leia. Didn't like Flea. Didn't like the rescue. Didn't particularly like the baddies. Not desperate to see anymore.

Oh yeh. They didn’t recognise each other. They need to do another flashback to that moment in time.

Easy 7/10 episodes

Well Episode 4 you get the impression that Obi knows Ani is Vader......well now that's how it's gonna be for sure, though looking forward to see how they explain Leia's message at the start of Ep4
