Know what you mean BTG
The wee one was stressed to H
And with no real need given she already had an unconditional
That said 3 A and a C
giving her 5 A, 2 B, and 2 C.

nah, they don't mick
same as you, chose a career because i was good at it, chucked it and now doing something completely different while i study.
3 years to go.
2 B's is still good, depending on what course he might need A's next year but he can focus on less subjects.

Uni is not the only route to success(whatever that is)Sounds more a setback than a life changing fook up tbh.
It's hard to take failure(sic) at the time, but the clouds go away when you react in the correct way.
---
I think most folk I know would agree uni whilst it opens interview doors, actually teaches you nothing worth knowing, and infact the most successful people I know didn't go.

I agree that when I went to uni straight from school, I learned nothing useful, I simply learned how to answer questions in a way which would get me a pass, nothing more.
However, going back as an adult, with life experience behind me, it is possible to actually gain useful learnings.
Universities should refuse entry to anyone without 2 year's full time working experience.

i'm a far better student now than i was then, now i want the best grades and i want to know what i'm talking about.
work has taught me the implications of ignorance, some people i work with are utterly clueless.
now i want to be able to know what i am talking about, rather than just pass.

It depends how much you put in to it and how much you apply yourself
If you enter with the mindset that the goal is to pass and get a degree then there is a chance you will learn very little
If you have the mindset that you are doing it to learn, make you a better person and put you on a road to success then you will learn a lot
Its not about passing, its about learning
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's the problem, after 13 years of school you are saturated with learning, all you care about at that point is passing and starting your adult life.
There comes a point when you actually want to learn again.

Most of my friends have degrees in fields that have nothing to do with their jobs, and actually got the jobs from being at the bottom (as they couldn't get the ones they wanted with their degrees) and working up.
I think I read somewhere (and this is a common theme in work too), that of those hired the uni ones tend to already think they know everything because of being taught certain things at uni, and as a result get a shock, whereas those that come in from working their way up ate far more useful and grounded.
I went to uni, so I'm not banging my own drum, just don't think uni is that relevant for the most part anymore (sure in some fields-ie medicine it's essential), but for the most common subjects...

thing is BTG
I know loads of people with top marks from higher exams etc and they work in Morrisons/M&S etc
experience is the key to any job
get a foot in the door and work your way up
you can prepare and prepare for exams but in truth you never know what you'll come up against
sounds to me if he went and sat exams again tomorrow he'd go and smash them out the park
curly
agreed, though i'm also willing to bet at the age of 10 you didnt have the difficulties you do now when it comes to getting in a f...ing taxi
