For what it's worth, I couldn't give two schits about the co-efficient.

Fck the coefficient.

I'd rather be in the CL than the Plate.

I couldn't stop thinking how much of a severe comedown Europa League would be during that 2nd half last night

So, if a team gets into the Champions League group stages and only manages to win one game, draw one game, and subsequently get knocked out of Europe (not wholly unrealistic for a pot 4 team in the UCL)...

Im not picking holes here, but a team could qualify for Europa with 4 points thus maybe getting more Coefficient points. no?.

I'm sure Celtic made Scotland jump two places in the co-efficient rankings this morning due to qualifying for the CL.

A few wins in the group stages and it may improve even further.

There is also the fact that had Celtic not qualified for the CL then we probably wouldn't have brought in some quality signings over the next week.

Scotland's a long way from increasing their coefficient to a point where they can add an extra CL place. Currently in 23rd in the rankings, they need to move up to 15th.

Celtic being the lone scottish representative left once again makes it nigh on impossible to earn those points. Other teams need to step it up.

We may have no club in it next year and years to come if they restructure it

Poland are 2 places ahead of you. Legia drew last night and qualified also, so they increased their lead over Scotland.

A few Celtic managers have under-performed in Europe, but I think the grievance at the co-efficient should be directed at the other clubs.

Aberdeen lost to a team from Slovenia and it seemed normal; Hearts lost to a team from Malta; Hibs lost to a team from Denmark (somewhat forgiveable for them I suppose).

The significant advantage of the Champions League I suppose is that the £200,000 to the rest of the clubs may be the difference in them keeping a team together for more than a season; or ripping up and starting entirely from scratch.

The worry for Scotland's co-efficient is that Rangers' years in the wilderness means you may get harder ties in qualifiers in the years to come.

Haven;t really looked at the new plans, but as of now, everyone gts a CL place. Likely there would be just increased competition in the qualifying phase to ensure the big guns get in automatically?

As a Celtic fan the best I hope for Scotland's co-efficient is for us to get into the Champions League and finish third and go on a run in the Europa League; and for Rangers or Aberdeen to get into the Europa League group stages.

Celtic getting to the champions league benefits Scottish football as better players will want to come play here now.

What star player are Rangers going to sign with their windfall of nearly £300k that we provided them?

I've read that the 'windfall' is based on last year's finishing position, so Rangers would get nothing.
