This fight discredits the sport. I really hope it's a one sided bore fest, which will highlight the benality of it.
I can't muster one iota of excitement for it.
The only discrediting aspect is Floyd getting to 50-0 against a guy that has no professional boxing fights.
Aside from that, it's an exhibition fight with no titles on the line, only bragging rights. It's a circus pure and simple but as I have said, the build up will be more interesting than the actual fight.
There has been talk that the WBC will put the diamond belt on the line for this fight:
Make of that what you will.
Pointless venture which only further damages the veracity of this fight.

A completely off topic comment, superb do the honours mate.
D4 you're more than welcome to comment about Mayweather Vs McGregor on this thread but Ward vs Kovalev comments are for another thread unless you're tying it into this fight.
Very interesting to hear Tim Bradley's take on this fight and he's right that Mayweather has never had to face a trash talker and all round wind up merchant like McGregor before. Undoubtedly McGregor is going to try and get under Floyd's skin like nobody has ever done before.
The fight could well be terrible but the build up is going to be terrific, guaranteed.
Floyd's far too experienced to be effected by Conor's trash talk. The fact that there is only 2 months left also helps as they won't really have ample time for a real feud to materialise. Conor will trash talk but Floyd can trash talk also. The build up is the most exciting part of this but I don't expect it to effect Floyd.
Conor can get under someone's skin in two minutes if he wants, let alone two months. I've got no idea how many appearances these fighters will make together before the fight though.
Conor isn't some mind game specialist. Floyd's far too experienced at these things to be fazed.
I disagree, Conor is great at getting into opponent's heads, you only have to look at what he did to Jose Aldo before their fight that lead to that 13 second knockout.
As for experience Floyd has plenty of it but he's never come up against someone remotely like Conor before. This will be new for him.
Either way it's all just conjecture, we don't really know how much either fighter wants this. They're getting paid nine figure salaries win, lose or draw so it's anyone's guess as to what happens in the build up.
He has only really gotten into Jose Aldo's head and that was because they had a year plus of build up and tension between the two. Aldo is a reserved fighter and he has never trash talked but against Conor he was totally wound up because to him, trash talk is disrespectful.
Now look at Conor vs Nate. Conor trash talked Nate but failed to get under his skin. The reason why was because Nate is a trash talker himself and to him it doesn't really matter what his opponent says.
Floyd has been a trash talker all his life, he just chooses not to do so any more. I highly doubt Conor will get under his skin.
Although if Conor did rile Floyd up, it would make the fight a lot more interesting.
When's the official press conference?
Gotta need one of those, make it official like....
Nothing has been announced as of yet but I am hearing early July for the press tours around several cities.
Nice hype video here with some cool slow mo footage of both fighters in action:
The more press conferences the better
Well the cynical side of me says, until I see them together on stage, then I believe it's happening.
But then I might shift goalposts, and say until I see them in the ring, then I'll believe.
I just can't get motivated for this fight.
And I don't like the way it's taking the shine off the epic Canelo v GGG.
But it is what it is..
Hey Stringer I don't think it's taking the shine off GGG vs Canelo at all. That fight is still three months away although I doubt there will be much trash talking between them if their appearance on First Take was anything to go by.
GGG vs Canelo will probably have a boring build up, especially as Canelo doesn't speak much English, or doesn't want to at least.
But the fight will be spectacular so it will probably be the complete opposite of the May vs Conor fight in respect.
So if you want to be fully entertained then catch all the build up to this fight but then skip everything else until Canelo and GGG get in the ring in September
Oh I have no doubt the pressers will be gold.
Connor is auditioning for his eventual Wwe debut.
But will Connor behave himself. Cos it won't take much for Floyd to wind him up..
I don't think floyd stands a chance with Connor in the verbals.
"Who the Fook is that guy?" Is just an all time classic..
American smack talk is rubbish
Connor's trash talk is just as boring. oh look he is swearing. how cool
