Samba, Mamba, Bamba. Part of the fabric of growing up.
Currently own 3 pairs.
Red Suede bit loud but they were bought for me. Blue suede and black leather.
They are certainly the trainer of choice for Gentlemen of a certain age.
Got my blue suede 1's on today for the game.
Let's see how good Bruce and his £77m team are
It's not about what you wear or knowing the difference between Hamburg's and Spezial's cos that's a bit Nerdy. It's about having passion from an early age that takes you outside of just the players and results.
Do you fully understand the game if you don't know your Samba's.
I honestly had never heard of a samba. But then I don't expect to be taken seriously
That's a double whammy for you Heb. Don't go to matches and don't know your Samba's. Is there any hope left.
How old are you, Iwas - 14 ?
Anyway, I built my sporting reputation on Dunlop Green Flash.
You're a sad, sad man
I take you seriously Heb. More than I do middle aged blokes still having an inferiority complex if they don't wear a cartain trainer. Most of us left that crap behind in our teens.
On another point, I have found out why we no longer hear from TEG. Watch this and find out.

Good luck with that, Baz
Yes I'm 14. Didn't you know. I thought the bloc might start getting defencive.
You moved on to hating bandstands, being scared of cows and wearing knee socks with walking boots Spart.
Anyroad it's just a bit of fun.
I too built my sporting reputation on Dunlop Green Flash then Hitech arrived with the 'Badmibton' and I got 20% better overnight.
Exactly, Iwas, a bit of fun
Does it still say 'Die Marke mit den drei Riemen' on the box ?
I have several pairs including a custom one in white with black stripes and 'DERBY' printed where the name on the shoe usually is.
Wore them at Wembley. Not my lucky shoes ...
Used to wear my black leather Sambas for training when I played for Luxicoaches.
Didn't bother with the suede ones when they came out, they were all a bit...................Nottingham

I used to wear them playing 5s. A comfortable classic.
That's anorak territory Ang.
I'm currently working on a project with Adidas. Cutting the leather of the shoe. Potential £3m. Machines are on trial at the moment. We have recently sent a machine to Adidas in Israel personalising Adidas trainers for the Tel Aviv Marathon.
Just in case you wondered.

That's pretty cool
Reality has finally struck home then lad's and now you've all gone mad?
That explains your interest then, Iwas.
I wonder if Derby's (& Forest's) lack of form at the moment is down to wearing the wrong footwear ?
Is it still possible to buy them. I went through about three pairs in my playing days.
Was it wrong of me to wear my sister's Green Flash cast offs when I was a nipper?
Bet you've got a foot fetish, as well, Iwas
I was the first boy in our school to have orange stripes on the sides of his footy boots.
Does that claw me back any credibility ?
Football boots should be brown, L shaped and have a hard toe cap. The main skill is to learn how to kick the ball from one end of the pitch to the other. The other is how to kick your opponent a similar distance.
I once had a pair of George Best school shoes, his image carved into the sole.
However, I digress, pair of black plimsolls for me.
I've had sambas in the past until I discovered adidas torsion in navy and of course black and white.
So comfy.
