There were a fair few big money players in the Liverpool squad at the time. Rush, Wright, Saunders, Thomas, Walters, James, Stewart.

Tricky with Rush. Signed for £300k sold for £3.2m, bought back for £2.8m so minus £100k cost.

funny, when hoody was referring earlier to facts and guarantees, i had naively assumed that he had already carried out this exercise before being so confident that he was right.

otherwise it might seem - ever so slightly - that he just says anything that suits his argument, and only bothers to check his facts afterwards (and then only if challenged).

spend as much time as you want on this, i don't really care, and it isn't actually hugely relevant to the original discussion. besides, my initial response was that your claim "may or may not be true", so whatever the answer doesn't prove me wrong.
