I personally wouldn't buy Morata. I'd have Rashford n Martial compete for our number 9 spot and maybe try a find another diamond in the rough like Hernandez who can come off bench and bag a goal for us when needed.
I'm not buying for a second that Rashford n Martial can't be clinical or aren't ready yet. It's all about confidence. Both have shown their qualities enough for me. It's now down to the manager to get them consistent which is part of his job.
I'd spend the Morata money further improving the midfield and lack of creativity we have.

there are reports the defoe's wage demands are putting off clubs, i would have no problem with him being signed as the 3rd choice striker to turn to if the young guns fluff their lines.
but if RM really are demanding £80m for morata that has to be the time to walk away.

Eric that's a very fergi move and he'd only be tempted to spend big if the striker is genuine quality. Morata could be decent but ain't a top signing, rashy and martial need a chance!

I agree.
I haven't been impressed enough with Morata that we shell out £70m+.
I still think we could have a genuine world class player on our hands with both Martial n Rashy. They need guidance and to be given full trust in them.
In saying that if we do buy Morata I will fully support the managers decision. I just don't think hes £70m better than what we already have.

That'd be ideal and i said as much earlier in the past season as to giving both kids a chance but it got short thrift.
I see the other side of the argument it has to be said but i honestly believe the lads are ready and with midfield reinforcements *and proper coaching* we should be fine.
However, I totally understood Jose not wanting to take that gamble.
I honestly do not see any value in getting Morata when we have both Martial and Rashford.
How will they ever be consistent if they are not given the chance. Especially Martial.

Too many barn doors missed by them too often that's why we struggled for goals. Rashford is a top player with a great work rate and attitude. Martial is a gifted , languid player whose sum of his parts should add up to more than he has shown.
Why any player needs to be shown how to bust a gut for United is beyond me yet that is apparently what Tony needs after 2 full seasons. Turn it on or turn it in the club is way too important for 1 game in 5 performers however great they might be in the future.
Well martial has just cleared up what most of us pretty much thought
The rumours are absolute bollox and he is going nowhere.
No chance in hell we would sell such a talentented young player. Yes he has his faults such as his work rate, movement but that can be worked on and he IMO is the most talented youngster in the squad. A future star IMO and if we were to sell him then hat would be one if the biggest mistakes the club has made in years

I agree.
