He studied and adapted to the 6 role shortly after klopps arrival. He is also very good in an attacking/creative capacity in relation to other 6's.

Players love him. Klopp loves him. Arguably the best cm in the league first 4 months last season.

He's going nowhere.

If you don't think that's serious then you weren't watching last season.

He lost his form, but was fantastic statistically and visibly in the first few months.

He's obviously a good leader and character in the dressing room because on football ability he would never be captain for Liverpool or England

He is a good leader and motivator on the pitch, a great passer of the ball and has an excellent engine. He's also aggressive in the tackle. All things that make a good deep midfielder and captain, which he is for club and country.

Yes he isn't exciting so those who don't really understand that game won't agree with how highly he's rated by his peers but that's just the way it is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In a nutshell

Not flashy enough for some bit his work ethic, engine and desire more than make up for it. Badly needs to stay for though as injuries have knocked him back a bit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All that.

do you even watch football?
your hatred for certain teams and players is amazing.
i thought henderson when he first came back from injury was not very good. but when he regained his fitness he was great. hardly a misplaced pass and tons of energy.
next year will be a tough decision for klopp.

Kante wasn't bad first 4 months last season either. He falls into the 'CM" category, no?

Henderson averaged more tackles, more blocks, less fouls, higher duel win percentage, more clearances, more passes, more assists, more chances created and more key passes per 90 minutes than Kante last season.

If that doesn't put him in contention for the best cm last year then I don't know what does.

Go to a game and watch players live, rather than soak up stats for tellyclappers on Sky

Sigh. Look no offence but I've said before I don't think you know the game and "debating" with a couple of attention seeking pr!cks is not on my to do list today.

If you can find a cm (a deep lying pne at that) that was outperforming him, and I don't mind what stat you use, then you may have a point but your opinion means jack cos you're demonstrably a know nothing melt.

I watch pretty much every Liverpool game hence I know how good Henderson was for large parts of last season.

Stats can mean nothing and don't paint the whole picture, especially something like goals, but tackles, chances created, passes etc. aren't down to luck. Fact is he out performed kante in almost every area that is required for a cm last season.

OP

Take a look at the BBC website today. They have a bit on who the most influential players were at each club last season. Funnily enough Henderson is 2nd behind Mane, and ahead of Firmino.

Part of the reason we appeared to run out of steam towards the end of the season was when both Mane and Henderson were out injured. More so Henderson IMO, as he keeps the ball moving and helps dictate the speed to the game enabling Mane etc. to break away/get into space. The same happened when that prat Rodgers was in charge. Henderson got injured, and the team was worse.

He is like Carrick at UTD. Massively underrated by non UTD fans. Same goes for Henderson with us.

Liverpool

Most Influential Least Influential
Sadio Mane 1.51 Lucas Leiva -0.76
Jordan Henderson 1.41 Simon Mignolet -0.12
Roberto Firmino 1.34 Divock Origi -0.1

Now tell us if his place is under threat.....

It's one game!

What is it with kids today, everything has to be either amazing or terrible. No middle ground.

We played badly. I'll spare you the suspense, we'll probably play badly again this season! We'll also play much, much better for the majority of the time.

Agree, it is only one game.

I was querying your fans' insistence that your defence was good on the back of 6 clean sheets out of 7, saying it was not representative of the quality of your defence.

City are stronger than you, your squad is weak and you had a poor transfer window even if you have 6 clean sheets in a row.

Fact is, your personnel is not good enough to win league

posted on 11/9/17

I do not know a single person who thinks LFC have the squad to win the league. Not one. No expects it. No one says it.

Any other LFC news for us CFC? Will the Sun rise tomorrow? Is the grass green?

Such a melt.

There you go again.

City are stronger; Liverpool are weak - no middle ground whatsoever. Is our squad weak? Of course not. Is it the strongest in the league? Again, of course not. Is there middle ground here? Obviously.

Liverpool (despite improving) had a poor transfer window. No concept of having a reasonable window that could have been better, could have been worse.

We won't win the league, you're right. But then again, only one team will. Which I'm sure in your world will mean everyone else is weak whilst one team is strong...

There isn't much middle ground when you get smashed 5-0 and best player redded.

Your transfer window wasn't reasonable: it was poor.

Coutinho farce. VVD farce. No Keita til 2018.
