I’ve a site bookmarked somewhere on my computer that does tours like this across the Middle East but are done with archaeologists and historians in some parts, think one in Iran cost about £10k.
The Israel ones looked amazing as well, and I’ve always wanted to go there, but that’s just no longer feasible.

Suppose any party, in addition to whatever share it may possess of the ability of the community, has nearly the whole of its stupidity, that party must, by the law of its constitution, be the stupidest party; and I do not see why honorable gentlemen should see that position as at all offensive to them, for it ensures their being always an extremely powerful party...

This reminds me of the brexit referendum when it was said not all brexiteers are racist but all racists are brexiteers.
I realised later have spoken to many, that was very wrong. All brexiteers ARE racist. You just have to dig deep enough to find out.

Total US sovereign debt: $38tn
Combined wealth of US’s top 1% richest people: $52tn
Meaning that the top 1% could pay off the US’s entire sovereign debt overnight and still leave themselves and their children, grandchildren and next few generations with more wealth than they could even attempt to spend in their lifetimes.

How else were we going to give £700m to Rwanda, spend billions to make the journey between Brum and London 20 mins quicker, have a PPE free for all and do the Brexit they promised?

“Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives...
I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.
There is so much dense, solid force in sheer stupidity, that any body of able men with that force pressing behind them may ensure victory in many a struggle, and many a victory the Conservative party has gained through that power."
― John Stuart Mill (British philosopher, economist, and liberal member of Parliament for Westminster from 1865-1868)

This reminds me of the brexit referendum when it was said not all brexiteers are racist but all racists are brexiteers.
I realised later have spoken to many, that was very wrong. All brexiteers ARE racist. You just have to dig deep enough to find out.

Or, looking from another angle…
Total US sovereign debt: $38tn
Combined wealth of US’s top 1% richest people: $52tn
Meaning that the top 1% could pay off the US’s entire sovereign debt overnight and still leave themselves and their children, grandchildren and next few generations with more wealth than they could even attempt to spend in their lifetimes.

They're being prudent. They must be waiting for Trump's "megadeal" to add another $3-4tn before paying it off.
