It’s his first season and no one has been playing very well
If it was obvious he wasn't a top class striker why did you think he was going to score 25+ league goals?

Looking back it’s obvious now. The hype he got gave me hope back in the summer
Laca's first season has been so much better than Giroud's. Giroud was shocking that first year, he got 11 in 34 whereas Laca has 8 in 15.
Think he needs time to settle and adapt. Looks a good footballer.
Said this before but i thought he was supposed to be a quick striker (Anelka/Henry) He actually not that fast and because hes small and weak he gets pushed off the ball way to easily.
Still thin Augbamayang would have been the better option. He actually is super quick and has height to him (6ft2/3).
It wasn't obvious if you fell for the hype.
It's a bit deluded to expect a striker to come into a new league and score 25+ league goals in a pretty poor team.
I don't think any striker in the prem has managed that.
Its hard to perform when you get no service and if you watched him especially early on he was making good runs into the chanels and in behind but no one was finding him. He is probably fed up of being taken off after 60 minutes every game as well. To be honest the slow turgid side to side passing we serve up now would see Messi struggle in this team.
Its no coincidence Wenger ruins most players that come through his door these days.

He's well short on confidence and had a woeful volley first half which summed that up. I'll shank a volley high and wide all day long for you if you want.
But he shifts the ball well and gets hits shots off early. I like that. Nice striker off the ball as well and his movement is decent.
I'd like him in the LFC squad.

How much did you pay for Lukaku was it 75 million ouch
Yep, has it any relevance to my point?
He's one of the best strikers in football.
Scored 28 in 28 starts (2 subs) in the league last season. He was Top Scorer and Best Player ahead of Zlatan & Cavani in 2014-15. Just a couple months back, he scored 2 for France vs Germany.
When he gets his confidence back, the goals will flow.

One thing playing against a bunch of farmers with over a 3rd of your goals being pens. Another playing against proper defenders with refs reluctant to give us penalties
If he was world class then all the best teams would have wanted him and he would cost a lot more, we could have bought him for the last 3 seasons when Wenger didn't seem interested. Think it was always clear he's a good but not great striker, but he's got the potential to score a lot of goals for us. He doesn't have the X factor like a Suarez or Aguero but don't really care if he scores 25+ goals a season which he would if the rest of the team wasn't useless.

Yeah it seems Wenger went through a list of strikers before eventually falling to Lacazette.
It is becoming obvious why now. West Ham wanted him. That’s the level of teams who wanted him
Atletico Madrid also wanted him. not that that is a reflection of his abilities.
I'd like to see him and Giroud up front together, don't know how we would fit them but we need to try something different.
Some people are judging Lacazette far too harshly. It's his first season with us and we've seen many players take a season or so to settle into this league.
Couple that with the abysmal lack of service he's been receiving and it's no wonder he's going through a lean spell. Watch him during the games and you'll see Lacazette make a number of excellent runs in behind the defence which go unrewarded as Xhaka opts for a 5 yard pass backwards or Sanchez loses possession.
"I'd like to see him and Giroud up front together, don't know how we would fit them but we need to try something different."
Yeah I'd like to see Laca playing off Giroud, don't think he really is suited to a lone striker role.
Could try a 5-3-2 seeing as how we're pretty useless on the wings anyway.
I have no real issues with Lacazette in general play, I just wish he was a tiny bit more clinical. Has missed chances you'd expect a striker of his rep to score.
Need to get Ozil playing close to him. Problem is your nidfield needs Ozil deeper to collect the ball from the midfield.
If you had better midfielders I think you'd see a lot more from Lacazette.
Yeah it all stems from that Darren, mostly from not having Cazorla.
When we had Santi, he'd collect the ball from deep and Ozil would be 20 yards ahead of him, now Ozil is a lot deeper.
