Not having a dig here but are you all not quite worried about the start of the season now?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm concerned

I don't think Kane will be fit, possibly Alli and Trips too. I can't see them starting and I think we might have a slow start.

Realistically though I can only really see us needing to sign a CM, a striker and then a CB only if Toby goes. I think we have the rest covered really.

But I have absolutely no clue who they'll be, and it is getting more concerning by the day that no one is in yet!

I am more concerned about keeping Toby, Dembele and Rose to be honest. If they stayed all we need is one centre mid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Me too. Toby proved his fitness at the WC. I wouldn't swap him or Jan for any CB in world football right now. For us to have the best season possible I think we have to play a back 3 of Toby, Sanchez & Jan. If that means losing him for peanuts next summer.... so be it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Levy would never see ot that way. Never ever ever
----------------------------------------------------------------------
& there's our problem..... With Levy its about money first & winning football matches second.....sad but true

From SC;

Who: The Goat
When: 11th July
Where: SC

From a second (very reliable) source, Martial was shown around the new stadium and 'loved it'

Does anyone believe the ITK on this site?

Naah, I honestly don't think we are talks with anyone other than Villa for Grealish sadly. I think Martial will end up at Bayern.... They have to replace Robben & Ribery at some point !

i'd be happy with just Grealish and a first XI CM...as long as 5 at the back is default formation.

if we play 433 or 4231, i think we need a martial type signing on top of that.

every club seems to want kovacic we can only dream on that one. I do worry about us only having very limited CM players.

Not having a dig here but are you all not quite worried about the start of the season now?

Several away games to start, all your WC players (and there's lots) are not even back pre-season training, hard to see how they will be fully match fit till end of August.

At this stage it's 16 days (?) till the window closes and the league starts, that is very little time to give any new players time to adapt to Spurs, and especially when you consider how Poch wants his players to be super fit and play in his system.

It's all pointing towards a difficult start for you, does anyone think Kane / Alli etc. will be ready to play v Newcastle on opening day?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not worried, just fed up. Repeated failure to get the transfer business done for the bulk of pre-season training, getting to know your teammates, the style of play etc. Poch himself came out in December and blamed our slow starts on this. Failure to prepare; prepare to fail.

He could do worse... Playing for one of the Top 4 Sides in England, CL regulars, team stacked full of internationals, Big new stadium at a club who now thanks to the Kane Deal are proving that they pay for world class players. Playing/living in london & not some northern hell-hole helps. Modders appeared to be happy at Spurs until Madrid came calling & he's now had a taste of that & doesn't like it. He would also be a guaranteed starter !....,Only problem.... Levy

Why would we be worried. Spurs always start slow, and last few years always finish top four. So absolutely no problem. I am super confident that Spurs will do exceptionally well in the Prem, and expect Spurs to be right up there fighting for the title.

Can someone please tell me why, if Grealish appears to be a certainty, haven't we got this over the line yet?

Coz Levy is cheap & Villa are holding out for a rival bid

23, 11, 7 and 23.

That's how many points we've finished behind the league winners in the last four years. As great as it's been to finish in the top four I don't think we've truly challenged for the title.

No complaints as this is a huge step forward to where we were but being super confident of us challenging for the title is a bit odd.

They probably want more than £20m for Grealish which is outrageous. He's done absolutely nothing to merit a high transfer fee.

Player prices have just gone insane it's ridiculous. Close to £100m for Sigurddson and Richarlison!

Welcome to Sandy's world.

We never blow anyones door's off with a can't refuse offer so everything is a struggle. Pool just doubled the world record for a keeper and United Just paid 52Mln for a Brazilian who's track record is in Ukrainian footy !!! Chelsea paid 57 mln for Jorginho and barely anyone batted an eyelid.

The dumb thing about levy is that the couple of mln he saves in penny pinching over transfer fees would probably be offset by paying up early in the window, having the squad far better prepared and organized resulting in a better start, a higher place finish and more cash.... Typical Spurs..... Miss the big picture

This is yet another prime example of our scouting team failing us. Can find far better or far more promising players throughout Europe who’d cost less than a 22 year old who wasn’t even the star of the championship.

The whole system needs an overhaul - finding better players and also getting rid of the dross ASAP. It’s all so slow and cumbersome.

Anything over £30m would be pushing it, but if we can get him for cheaper than that then just pay and be done with it. £20m-£30m is ok for young English potential in this market. We paid the high end of that for Sissoko ffs.

That's the game, if levy doesn't like it he should go do something else. Hes just as responsible as the rest of them..... wants as big a TV deal as Possible, wants the best prices for his players !!..... What did he expect to happen. Granted the influx of billionaire owners & nation states has made it worse, but greedy football owners were well on their way to blowing up the transfer market anyway.,....
