India should be embarrassed if they can’t beat Australia reserves

Good to get the excuses in early Kash

What excuses? So called number 1 team in the world should be beating the Aussie reserves.

CA XI dominating India in this warm up...Prtivi Shaw rolls ankle and is out of the first test

I am going to call it before one ball is bowled. Don’t think India can win here. This time it might not be due to batting. Don’t think we have the bowlers who can pick 20 wickets in Australia. Pitches here require bowlers to hit the deck hard, only Bumrah is capable of doing that.

250 is not enough. I would expect Australia to bat past the Indian score now.

180 odd for 7 they will struggle to get 250 now!

India clearly should win from here

Pujara has been phenomenal in this match. I would think 300+ would be a safe score here. Think Indian bowlers have outbowled aus here, just need to repeat this in 2nd innings.

Brilliant grind from Pujara. Century in the first and now a half century and still going in the second innings. The last of a dying breed of classical attritional batsmen. What Test cricket is all about...

Think this is india’s to win. Would be good to see Ashwin pick fiver here. Has bowled beautifully here. Slightly disappointed on how we played on the second session. We folded like cards yet again. This would have been the difference if smith and warner were playing. India need to take the initiative fully when in strong position. We just seem to give the strong hand back very often and let opposition get their noses in.

I have never been a fan of Rohit but I think after 2nd test he needs to be dropped permanently. He has got countless opportunities but never scored any substantial scores when the team are in a hole. The fact he was picked ahead of Vihari who had a 50 in previous match is big injustice. Rohit is only in tests because of his credentials in one days. Not sure we will stop giving preferential treatment to him. And what makes it appalling is he hasn’t played a single first class match since he was dropped in January to earn a test place. He only earned his position back because likes of ganguly keep on blabbing that Rohit should be picked.

India have got this for sure.

Aussie cricket rights have moved to a new channel and once again they refuse to have someone from the opposition but instead have Michael Vaughan and Isha Guya commentating. How does that work out? Rather watch the test in mute.

Viru, losing Shaw in training was also a big blow. He would have done well on these bouncy wickets. I would bring in Vihari for Rohit next test as the latter has always been useless in Tests. It’s like Yuvraj - he can’t play anything but limited overs cricket, preferably at home. Anything else and he’s badly exposed.

220 to get with 6 wickets left would definitely favour the bowling side but this wicket hasn’t quite cracked as much as many predicted. Ashwin holds the key.

India doing their best to let the Aussies back in this at lunch. Two wickets in the session but too many sloppy runs given away. 137 runs for Australia to get with 4 wickets intact and Paine still at the crease. Anyones game.

When did India last win a test in Aus before this one?

Fell asleep just after lunch but woke up to a great win. Never easy winning in Australia especially with this Indian side who always tend to bottle it in the big moments. They need to go on and win this series now with zero excuses. Aussies might be missing key players but they pushed us all the way in this Test. Pujara and Ashwin absolutely brilliant

2008 Adelaide I believe. A special venue for us is Adelaide.

India have a great chance for being the first Asian side to win in Oz. This Aussie side is poor from a batting perspective but still have decent bowlers.

One thing I do not understand is why is it a 4 match series. Make it 5 for god sake

This Test epitomised everything that is right about Cricket and how we don't need 250+ scores smashed in 20 overs to enjoy it. Such a close fought game which is exactly what we want to see. Test cricket is alive and kicking if the people running the game knew what they were doing. Crowds were a massive disappointment though.

What’s up with Pant? Why does he need to play a T20 innings every time he bats? Shastri explanation was dubious too. Surely you want to coach a player than have him erratic.
