Valencia is South American and not a failure
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What? Isn't Valencia Spanish? Don't you live in his hometown?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He lives in mine

Reckon the Irish would be among our most successful nationalities.

We should probably just stop signing foreign players seeing as we have so many that don’t succeed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We probably can’t after March anyway

Dutch is probably our most successful foreign nationality then French.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Closely followed by Spanish
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I propose Scotland? I reckon we've had one or two useful Scots at the club over the years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

True. But I don’t really count the British nations as foreign countries to each other. They’re basically the same people but with different regional accents

Obviously they feel different

Never been a big fan of Tony

Heinze was a far superior player imo probably along with tevez the best of our south American signings

posted on 20/1/19

If we had a peak Heinze we would’ve challenged for the title

The Welsh are foreigners, etymologically speaking.

Wouldn’t say far superior as Valencia has shown a lot more consistency over the past few seasons and while not world class or ever a fan fave first choice, does what is asked well and is a survivor

And Heinze wanted to join Liverpool

posted on 20/1/19

I’m not a fan of Valencia but he’s been a bigger success at United than any South American player we’ve had.

I was going to comment about Irish players, they’re out most successful non-British signings by an absolute mile.

He's a model pro and looks after himself but his
survival owes more to the state of the club these last several seasons than his ability as a full back.

Really hope to see a quality Irish player at United again.

It looks like they will If Declan Rice throws his lot in with Mick McCarthys team

would be good to see a French vs (Southern) Irish debate over successful players for United

Off the top of my head (success wise) I have these

Keane
Irwin
O’Shea
McGrath
Moran

Vs

Cantona
Evra
Pogba (controversial)
Blanc
Saha
Martial

Tempted to put Barthez in there as we did win titles with him but was he a success?

Hopefully Rice declares for us. Coleman is our only real top player and I’m not sure he’s the same player since the injury either.

Plastic Paddy though isn’t he?

Successful South Americans we have had Heinze, Valencia, Rafael and Tevez. Veron I think would have been a success if there was place in the team for him. But SAF was never going to play him over scholes. Pointless signing

True. Typical we would have two quality players in the one position
