I know everyone wants to go for it, but surely resting Jota and Jiminez makes sense.
Ruddy will probably start, Apart from Vinagre the back line should be the same (no real options) Midfield MGW, Saiss and Dendonker, could all be in with a shout.
Costa, Cav, Traore up front, I would prefer costa and traore out wide, Cav down the middle?

I don’t think we will see many changes to the starting line up on Tuesday. The fact it will be nigh on a full house shows that there is a real belief that we can get to the latter stages. If our next league game was Saturday then I could see 5 or 6 changes but the next match is not until Monday so there is plenty of recovery time. Neves has looked injured the last two games so won’t play and maybe Moutinho as our oldest player might not play 90 minutes. Big key is who plays up front because leaving out Jiminez and/or Jota makes us a lot weaker. I think we will see 2 or 3 changes to yesterday’s team at most and it may be for the medical team to assess who most needs a rest
I think we should go as strong as is sensibly possible and if that means starting Jimi & Jota up front so be it, if we can kill em off in an hour we should, then make the changes.
..,...............Ruddy
.....Bennett, Coady, Boly
Jonny, Saiss, MGW, Vinagre

Actually Dendoncker not MGW
I wouldn't disagree with that Cinci. I would want Traore and Costa to stay out wide, stretching the play, testing the fitness of the Shrews players.
I doubt they could last 90 mins
Never mind the write up Gem, come up with the channel it's being shown on seeing as I'm working away so will miss being there live

Agree with that defence and wing backs, but I'd stick with the 3-5-2: start Jota but play Cav and rest Jimenez; Saiss for Neves and Gibbs-White for little Mou. And give Ennis a place on the bench with the prospect of replacing Jota if we've done a proper job in the first half.
If we start with Costa, Cav and Traore up front everyone had better be practicing their penalty taking because a draw is the best we can hope for.
Jota, Jimenez and Doherty are probably our 3 fittest players and with 6 days before the next league game, I see no reason to rest any of them. As I said in the OP, start with the strongest 11 available and put them to the sword before half time. Bring in the 'reserves' in the second half when Shrewsbury are chasing the game.
Ruddy
Bennett, Coady, Boly
Doherty, Jonny
Dendoncker, Saiss, Moutinho
Jimenez, Jota
I think that will be the team gem although I would write it down differently as I suspect we will line up in the same formation as recent games with Saiss replacing Neves as the deep lying midfield player;
Ruddy
Bennett, Coady, Boly
Saiss
Doherty, Dendoncker, Moutinho (orMGW), Jonny
Jiminez, Jota
Against Shrewsbury, I'd revert back to a 3-4-3 formation. Have Costa and Traore out wide and Cavaliero in place of Jimenez.
Sort of go with that Wolfie, but how about this for a wildcard option:
Ruddy
Bennett, Coady, Boly
Costa, MGW, Dendoncker, Saiss, Vinagre
Traore, Cavaleiro
and that's Costa at wingback.
Then if things go pear-shaped bring on Moutinho, Jota and Jiminez when we're only 1 up at half-time.
That team was only partly tongue-in-cheek, but realistically it should be more than good enough to trash Shrewsbury at home.
Having said that the team we fielded at Shrewsbury should easily have been good enough to trash them there.

Thank God Nuno is our leader and not you then. You have made the fatal mistake of underestimating the opposition which is what Nuno did last time. Hopefully he has learned from that mistake even if you haven't.
I just don’t see where the goals are going to come from if we play Costa, Cavaleiro and Traore up front, or two of those three. We tried that in the first match and wouldn’t have scored all night if Jiminez hadn’t come on. Let’s not forget we were two down until that happened.
Costa and Traore can work if given space to operate, which is out wide. Shrews will never match us in fitness or ability, but they can and will compete in commitment.
We played narrow at their place, which played right into their hands, they were able to crowd out Traore and Costa. we should play to our strengths and make them run to close us down, spread their players wide open up gaps and exploit that.
Traore and Costa could run them ragged and have them chasing shadows, but not if you play them down the middle

And then Cavaleiro came on. Cavaleiro on the pitch = goals.
We didn't score because we made it easy for Shrews to close us down. the game changed when Jiminez came on and we played with wingers.
Shrews have not got the skill or fitness to out run us for 90 mins.
I think we beat them regardless of how we set up this time. It may not be pretty though
I think you are probably right Cinci.
