About 30 tickets left for this one when I looked this afternoon. Remember the time when people moaned that TV kick off times affected attendances. The variety of kick off times is annoying but this season if Wolves were at home at 3 am on a Wednesday it would still probably sell out

posted on 6/2/19

Without looking, am I right in thinking that we could lose this, and still be in 7th place? Nice buffer if that is the case.

It's going to be chaos when they start construction of the new stadium and close one stand at a time.
Maybe they should do a ground share with eg. Stoke for one season and get the whole stadium done and dusted in one go.

Nope! Everton and Watford are just 2 points behind us and play each other on Saturday. If either win, they will go 7th and push us down to 8th.

What league table are you looking at? We are four points clear of 8th place Everton and 5 points clear of 9th placed Watford and Everton will have played a game more after tonight against Man City

posted on 6/2/19

We are 4 points ahead of 7th and 9 behind Arsenal, so our league position wont change on Monday

Don't think we need to guess the line up for this one, team picks itself right now.

Don't think playing in Stoke or any other city would go down well.

My understanding is that the delay in announcing anything is due to exploratory work being done to see how expansion can be achieved with the least disruption to the stadium. The first development will likely be expanding the South Bank backwards, and it wouldn't necessarily mean closing the current South Bank while that happened

We agree on plenty, i am just ruthless when it comes to progress. Love all this squad though bar none and will fondly remember all of them for years to come for actually giving us something to actually be genuinely proud of at last.

Be interesting to see if Ennis gets on to the subs bench on Monday. Did ok in his short spell last night and would probably do a better job as cover for Jiminez and Jota than any of the three that played up front yesterday.

Wouldn't be surprised if there is a question mark over Ryan Bennett for Monday. Seemed to twist his knee last night and was down for a while and wasn't running smoothly afterwards

Precisely my point. If the stadium development goes ahead on stand at a time, the capacity of the ground will be reduced to around 21,000 for at least 3 seasons, maybe 4. So wouldn't it be better to offer subsidised travel to STH for one season and share a ground for home games. That would give the construction company 15 months to redevelop the stadium completely. Should be no problem as long as they don't use the same construction company as Tottenham.

As long as they don't knock down the Molineux Hotel . I could tell so many stories a out that place. First set eyes on my wife, and mother of my children there. Also first set eyes on Bob Hazell when he turned up looking for a room.

Who would we ground-share with locally? Not the damp-buttocked brigade from Sandwell. Stoke is too far.

Stoke is too far? It's 35 miles from Wolverhampton. There are currently no away games closer than that and the fans don't seem to have a problem with travelling to away games.

Its a tricky one that is for sure and doing it by the softly softly method is going to leave plenty of fans unable to attend games over the coming seasons.

Would be better to ground share overall but that comes with its own issues.

Me? I am just gonna watch on TV and let them figure it out.

If Man City beat Everton tonight they will go back on top of the table. It seems that Silva hates Liverpool as much as the rest of the blue noses because he's dropped Richarlison and Sigurdsson to the bench

We have a 3000 sell out at every away game and a 30000 sell out at every home game. Quite a difference.

But I think you are missing my two main points gem. Firstly while construction is going on I don’t think capacity will go down that much, they will manage the construction to limit the disruption as far as possible so we would probably only gain 5000 seats by playing 35 miles away.

But the biggest point by far that probably is of no importance to people living in Mallorca or USA is that this is our team, it’s Wolverhampton’s team and we play in Wolverhampton. And that is the whole essence of the majority of the support. And the supporters of no club in the country would vote for their team playing home games 35 miles away from their club’s home town.

posted on 6/2/19

It would certainly leave a hollow feel at home games i imagine.

The first year would be the biggest disruption but once the first stand is done and capacity is increased then the fans displaced by the second stand work will be able to spill into the extra seating now available in the first stand and so on through the rest of the project.
