All a matter of opinions of who's better. Let's just hope tonight inspires Messi to do the same tomorrow night or even better.
People always tend to over look the fact that Barca have been competing at the highest stage for more than a decade now. No team lasts that long. Sure in between they've had a season here and there where it's not gone right, but there's been one constant in all that success from back then and now, and that's Messi. Two trebles is unheard of, especially in the space of 6 years. Two completely different teams as well save for 4 first team starters from the first one?

How is making a factual statement a WUM?

No disrespect to Ronaldinho but putting Messi at his level is beyond stupid. He is both the best goal scorer and the best playmaker on the planet.

Fair enough if you think Ronaldo is better but to suggest it’s cut and dry is, again, beyond stupid.

Both spur the other on. One of them does something remarkable then the other does something remarkable. Both are the greatest. It’s so hard to choose who is better. People should just enjoy two absolute legends of the game and it will be yrs and yrs before we see a player come close to either

I do not get involved anymore in who is better. All i know is, Christiano Ronaldo is the best player I have seen in my lifetime.

Whether Ronaldo is the 'greatest of all time' will be seen in time, but to continually contrast him with a player that is merely the second greatest player from Argentina is a bit unhelpful.

I don't have an opinion about who is better. I'm only presenting my observation as to why I think Ronaldi went to Italy tbh. I think most will agree Messi has the edge in some ways but looking g back I think you lose a bit of that and you start looking more at the acjiements I you didnt nsee them play

Maradona is the most naturally gifted footballer in history IMO, in terms of pure ability, but he was a flawed individual. But factoring in ability with consistency, achievements etc. I would probably say that Ronaldo really is the greatest ever.

If you look at it from that perspective he is indisputably the best

We as football fans are so lucky to be able to witness two living greats at the same time.

I think it’s fair to say that Messi has more skill/natural talent/flair than Ronaldo but the question ‘better player’ the answer is Ronaldo. He has made himself that and I think that deserves more significant recognition.

Messi is the more fun player to enjoy watching but I think we’re now at a stage where Ronaldo really is the ‘better player’.

Messi will go down as the most talented player to ever play the game.

I'm not sure you can talk about Messi only in terms of pure talent. For me it's more a mixture of sumptuous talent, being physically blessed with that low centre of gravity and acceleration (it's a misnomer to argue that Ronaldo is physically blessed and Messi great "despite" lacking the power and stature) and an incredible footballing mind, which had the fortune to be schooled at Barcelona alongside Xavi and Iniesta. But like Ronaldo, he wouldn't have reached these GOAT heights without burning ambition and dedication.

I reckon there are loads of players in our generation (let alone the greats we can only glimpse through limited video clips) who had the natural talent of Messi, let alone Ronaldo. Ronaldinho did things with the football that few could imagine, let alone execute.

I'm not knocking Messi btw, he's very good at what he does, and you can pretty much tell what he's going to do, Maradona just seem to play off the cuff and was sensational at it
