Well, put it this way. Would these morons try this to the natives in Russia, or Poland or UAE for example?

What’s your point?

It depends on the numbers. Always has.

It's a brits abroad thing, not just football fans

posted on 1/5/19

I get it's not just English fans, but these are the fans we as a country are responsible for.

-

We're not responsible for them.

Erm, yes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There is a lot less leniency for trouble makers from abroad in those places.

My point is that in places like Spain, they may handle things differently than to other regions who have zero tolerance for this kind of behaviour from abroad.

Yeah, cos that goes through the mind of beer fuelled idiots.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

More that they wouldn't even contemplate on travelling to those places to do that partly because of this reason.

I can't believe those saying that it was "a laugh" or "just a bit stupid" as long as it wasn't racially motivated.
Either way it was an assault.

firstly, lets not make this a point scoring exercise between clubs, but serious question, how fooooking old is the guy in the second clip? what a total foookwit! grow up FFS!

Think theres expected to be around 15,000 Liverpool fans in Barcelona today, so these handful of idiots are very much in the minority.
Only problem is, give the Spanish police any excuse to go in heavy handed, and they will.
Get this person/ persons images to security services and police at the Nou Camp, have him/them stopped on entry, if identified, ban him /them from Anfield.

So you don't think there has ever been trouble from English in Russia?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I never said there wasn't ever any incidents happened there before, more so that it was less likely to occur.

Look it's booze and numbers.

Put loads of people together and get them p!ssed you will get social disorder and this has been going on since time began (well since they invented alcohol anyway).

Weddings, funerals, Friday nights, football matches, night clubs, whatever.

Some people like to have a drink and a tear up and that's about it.

I think we have to establish whether the man was pushed into a fountain because he was Asian

or

a man washed pushed into a fountain who happened to be Asian.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was pushed into a fountain as he was perceived as weak. Do you think they would have pushed a 6'6 man mountain?

Just watched it now - it was unpleasant but I think it was _fairly_ good natured / doing it for a "laugh" rather than abuse. I'm sure the victim didn't find it funny but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

Was at the Rosebowl for England v India in September, hot day... drinking from arrival at the station at 9 until leaving the ground at 19.00 and didn;t see any fighting or trouble

posted on 1/5/19

But I’m answer to your question, no I don’t think it’d happen in Russia cos the same numbers wouldn’t travel. That’s due to the rival fans more so than the strict policing.

Says more about your upbringing than anything else. There are loads of examples where people are put together and get piiissed and nothign happens.

Lowlands festival in the Netherlands and Pink Pop attract around 50,000 people all drunk for 4 days in a row and basically nothing happens.

Spanish police is one thing, but the diplomatic bureaucracies varies from regions.

Russian police force aren't known for their friendly smiles neither.

Yeah it's weird really but there are few things I like more than a day at test cricket.

I was lucky enough to be at Edgebaston when Jimmy took six wickets in a session. I was well oiled and had those awful plastic ring things that carry six pints. Spilt them all over everyone and didn't even get filled in which was a surprise to be honest.
