Cavaleiro set to go to Fulham, initially on a season long loan, leading to a transfer

posted on 12/7/19

It seems that every season, there are a few on here that start to panic if we don't bring in new players at an early stage of the transfer window. Nuno has done well up until now and where I agree that we need a slightly bigger squad this season, I'm confident we'll get the players who can compliment the squad we have now. What we don't want are players who could possibly disrupt the dressing room.

was unaware we were linked with Junior Vinicius?!?!?

That would be a stunning signing!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We're not - it's a different Vinicius

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian forward Carlos Vinicius.

The 24-year-old striker, who stands at 6ft 3ins, spent the second half of last season on loan at Monaco from Italian giants Napoli.

During the first half of the campaign Vinicius enjoyed an excellent spell in Portugal with Rio Ave, scoring eight times in 14 league appearances.

Unfortunately he couldn’t replicate his form in Portugal at Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco and managed just two goals in 16 appearances, although he only started three of those matches.

. That makes much more sense, will teach me to read more than a line

Cavaleiro now heading to London not China and us having a medical at Fulham today. Should bring in about £8m from a permanent transfer which added to the £13m for Costa is a good contribution to our summer transfers. Just need to bring a few in now

We are not getting 13 million for Costa this summer if indeed that rumoured fee is even correct.

Have to assume we have imminent signings on the way if we are letting Cav go now so not going to panic yet. Though a little strange he was in the China squad if a deal was being thrashed out unless Fulham have buckled to our demands later.

costa gone, jimmy knackered, now cav gone, three out and none in yet - i hope nuno knows what he's up to , fosun have shown this week how ruthless they are.if you fall short on their expectations

Well we messed up in the winter window by not getting what we were after so i really don't think we will fail again this summer.

Leeds played a low key friendly against Guiseley yesterday winning 2-1 with Costa scoring 1 and making the other and considered man of the match by the Leeds press

I'm not panicking I am just saying what I feel. As Cinci says, we messed up last winter. It's OK to leave it to the last minute, but as we have seen it can go ti when everybody starts bidding at the last minute. If we were to get one or two signing now, its takes the pressure off.
Just saying.

I fully expect after Cav leaves for Fulham that a whole host of signings will be announced.

I think it will be disappointing if we haven't bought anyone in by the date of our first Europa game

Just for comparison Villa have so far spent over £80m on transfers, and that number is expected to go over £100m by the end off July

posted on 12/7/19

I don't understand how Villa have that much to spend when they were already under investigation last season weren't they?

posted on 12/7/19

Yeah I seem to remember Fulham outspending everyone bar the top 6 and look where it got them. As little Jeff says, it's quality we want not quantity.

posted on 12/7/19

we spent £80 + mill.
it's what you spend the money on that counts

Cavaleiro’s deal to Fulham has gone though. As with Costa it’s a season long loan followed by a permanent transfer
