To me yes/no

Say Reyes was only driving 145mph for a short time, under no influence of alcohol or any substances that influence your brain then it's an accident and rightly a tragic one given his achievements in his life.

However, with his actions (stupid, dumb whatever) he took someone's life that is unacceptable.

But, we all crossed roads at red signals..

I personally don't like reckless, drunk or carefree driving.....especially at very high speeds unless its on a track/controlled environment. Too much at stake....

He obviously didn't deserve to lose his life and as a pro athlete was probably a very competent driver

I don't understand the correlation between being good at kicking a ball and driving...

Reyes and his cousin who died are the lucky ones. The third person who has been left with severe burns and life changing injuries is a horrible thought.

I'm torn on this as although 140mph is obviously way past the limit it's a tragic incident. Would the tire have burst at any speed? Even doing 80 if that happens would you stand much better a chance of survival?

Could’ve been being chased by rouge agents of the state with guns or even aliens, that might sound ridiculous but we don’t know what happened, a tragic accident and I hope he rests in peace, I’ve had a tire blowout before by a pyramid shaped razor sharp rock on a country road, it’s very unfortunate, God bless Reyes and his family.

If it really was 147mph, then it's no accident IMO, that is a lethal speed to drive on a public road and you are a threat to the public.

Race cars that travel that quick are equipped with the roll cage, fuel tank protection and the driver has fire proof suit and helmet for protection, but still high risk!

There is nothing right or wrong...every human has different interpretation in the life.

It's very sad to see loss of life especially doing something which could have been avoided? As someone said above, bursting tyre at 80mph might cause less damage compared to 140mph+ (if reports are right and authentic).

I feel for his young family..very tragic for people he left behind...

It wasn't an accident that caused his foot to press down on the accelerator until he hit 140+ mph. Please don't act as if an accident and reckless driving are the same thing. The outcome may result in death but one is utterly preventable.

And this is not to say that we don't feel for his family. We do; they've lost a loved one. The conversation is about HIM.

Reyes came from a gypsy family.

Bloody travellers... No regard for the law or society, don't pay taxes yet make full use of public goods.

idiot should be vilified as an idiot who killed his cousin and severely injured another,

imagine if he hit a pedestrain imagine if that pedestrian was your child

no minutes silence should be held and if we are forced to it then i will actively break it
