Ange's message for all the clowns.
Postecoglou asked what his message would be to angry Spurs fans: "My message would be to all Spurs fans because I represent them all not just the angry ones that you are referring to or maybe talking to. All Spurs fans. We are working hard to turn this around.
Obviously we know the situation, notwithstanding the fact the possibilities and opportunities in the second half of this season are still very much in our hands to capitalise on and still make it a successful season."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Clowns? For wanting the manager with the worst Spurs form in over 30 years and more losses at this stage than in any other PL season, out? Seems pretty reasonable justification to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Blokes a troll - he is as protective ofas Devon is Levy.
They are more into those individuals than they are the club, it’s weird
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough if you disagree with their stance but surely they should at least see where other people are coming from or are they that deluded to think this is perfectly respectable form even with the circumstances?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They are as blind to the circumstances as they say we are.
They point at the injuries as the number 1 mitigating factor - okay fine, there are a lot of injuries, but 3 things with that:
1. Ange has failed to adapt to those injuries, that’s why we are sliding into a relegation battle
2. Those injuries haven’t hampered us in the cups so far - so why is he getting a performance out of them in those comps but not the Prem. why are we beating Liverpool in the cup but losing at home to Ipswich and Leicester and away at Palace and Everton
3. Why didn’t he rotate earlier in the season when he had a chance - Udogie and Porro have been run into the ground by Ange despite Spence and Reggie being available.
The league aren’t going to allow us to stay up if we’re in the bottom 3 at the end because we had loads of injuries
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh here's captain hindsight again.
Always an expert after the event.
No doubt if we had Udogie sat on the bench and Reggie on the pitch and lost you'd be slagging him for such changes. Just like you did when he "rotated us out of the cups" last season
And do you think he says to his players, remember lads, this is a cup game and I made a promise so try a bit harder
And how has he failed to adapt to injuries? Spurs 2nd vs Leicester was a rubbish 5 yard sideways pass caused entirely by Porro. Should we not bother passing and just hoof it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I will come back on your points Levyshire
There is a difference between rotating and what we did at Fulham last year. Changing one or two players per game helps keep things fresh without disrupting the harmony. Fergie mastered this. The Fulham game saw 10 changes - they looked like they had met in the car park just before the game.
I don’t know what he says to the players, but the Ange in crowd are in here crowing after a cup win and bang on about his cup form - then disappear when we lose ridiculous league games and bleat excuses when you do finally turn up.
Yeah Porro was at fault, he also set our goal up - or was that goal a credit to Ange - you can’t have it both ways. Maybe if he had rotated him more then Porro would be less error prone. Maybe if he didnt give Porro licence to play as a right winger he would be in position a lot more than he is

Only if taken in isolation from all the mitigating factors, which is classic clown behaviour 🤡
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but we've been through this. Poor form and too many losses before the injuries, including to teams we should never be losing to even with injuries. The injury crisis has just made bad form worse, that is all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. Shame on us for not being the real deal inside 1 and a bit seasons.
Honestly! 3 points off third. Highest scorers, 3rd best defence inside 12 games of this season. Yes, there were some issues, some bad results, so good ones, but we are a work in progress. But because we werent perfect before the injuries really slowed us down, that's a reason to judge Ange as incapable.
The form wasnt that bad. Chelsea started the season well but look now and its 2 wins in 8 or something like that. Teams in development will have these inconsistencies. Our form was OK, but could be better, and even just 1 win would have had us 3rd.
I find it ridiculous where people think where we should have been in such a short time.
Not to mention that the same ones wanting Ange gone are also venting that Levy isnt backing the manager. So what is Ange meant to achieve if you think he isn't being backed.
No joined up thinking from fans who seem to just want to hate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody is saying we should be the real deal. How about simply more than 2 games unbeaten before a loss for a start? Only team in the league incapable of doing that since April. Newcastle had bad injuries last season, they finished 7th. We aren't going to finish that high. By this point in their season they were 8th. The season before they finished 4th. So you can use managers like Eddie or other managers (our previous ones) as examples and compare to show the sort of level we could be at and Ange is clearly performing lower than those levels.
You can give new managers time but they have to give us something in return i.e. signs of progression, otherwise you move on to the next manager.
Anges tactics and stubbornness scare me. We are not safe from relegation and he is setting us up like we can score 5 goals a game. There are so many wholes in the midfield when we lose the ball and the full backs at all over the place.
Levy simply will not give Ange the tools to EVER see if he could get it to work. You would need at least two first teasers per position, yet we have no left back at all and an 18 year old playing out of position at centre half.
I really would have liked to see what Ange could do with a proper squad, but he will never get that here, no manager has and his tactics in the meantime have us flirting with relegation
When form is this bad, you either back or sack the manager. Levy has clearly shown he has no intention of doing the former.

bang average Prem standard players in on loan to keep us up / give the better players some rest would be a big step forward

Problem is when can players be rested? Not for the cup games and now not for the Prem games. Probably only rest players for tonight given Spurs will still go through to a two legged play off even if they lose. But still so short defenders not going to he possible. Kinsky, Spence and Reggie all ineligible. Otherwise all three could have started and rested Gray and Porro.

Yeah there is the argument that top 8 means we avoid 2 more games, but equally, resting in that game and beating Leicester at home would have more or less quelled any relegation fears, they would have been 14 points behind us rather than 7 and had no chance of catching that up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one is saying it is accetpable form. no one
But no one can judge what Ange is capable of if he has been denied access to key tools for the large part of this season.
Last season was great then rubbish but it was teething and to be expected with such a massive rebuild.
This season we added some players and initial results were not ideal, performances were certainly better and some key stats were a lot better.
Then the injuries struck and while the impact of missing quality will have an impact, i think what is compounding it is that those who are fit are now shot, physically and mentally, and incapable of reaching high levels....so were are missing quality and experience which has hit us, but as this crisis has gone on we are becoming further and further from hitting optimum performance of a lower quality group of fit players.
I hope the reverse will be true Not only having key players back adds quality and raises our possible optimum levels, it will also add confidence. Like me, most are probably delighted to see VDV back. Its an instant lift for everyone even before he steps onto a pitch.
If we are still sheite with most players back then fair enough, but lets see first
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The way last season ended when he had his players back wasn't really to be expected. I think that was the first real sign for me that this job, this league, may be too big for Ange. When you have a season without Europe it's meant to be a great incentive to perform in the league and in the cups, so to have players back from injury and still capitulate is damning. Ange got too much praise for me for last season.
Like I said about comparing to previous managers, Poch and AVB got 5th in their first seasons too but there wasn't the same capitulation at the end like there was last season. AVB got over 70 points and was relying on 1 player for a lot of that season.
Ange simply isn't that good when put under scrutiny.
So we still haven't signed anyone?

Wouldn't at all be a surprise if there was some sort of clause in his contract. Levy loves a clause and there was the strong rumour floating around about Jose and the clause regarding having to pay more for sacking him after a cup win.
Agree about Hoffenheim and there have been other times of him demonstrating rotation issues. He can either play some players too much or other players not enough. Much of the injury mess we're in is self-inflicted either by his own training schedule or rotational problems.

Tin hat time .
Hoffenheim (a). "Did we have to go that strong?"
We had 8 players on the bench from the 11 allowed. The most experienced of which was 17 year old Mikey Moore We had no choice unless we're giving kids their debut in an important Europa league away game.
Yeah there's enough to criticise Ange for but 'going too strong' against Hoffenheim is ridiculous
lack of rotation and bad use of the squad earlier in the season meant we couldn't afford to rotate vs Hoffeinheim which became a must win game with 11 players fit
Wissam would be good

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Number 2 is a great point. I've said I feel like the players have decided since the league is pretty much over they have channelled their energy into the other competitions, or at least the cup, but you are right. If we are able to progress there with injury hit squads against good teams and with what seems like better performances than the league ones, then it shows we should be capable of doing the same in the league, at least against the poorer teams. It's Ange's job to try and get that out of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s why I reckon there is something to that rumour that came out the other week that Ange’s compensation if we sack him whilst we’re still in a cup competition is much higher than if we are not.
I look at the Hoffenheim game - did we need to go as strong as we did? Yeah there is the argument that top 8 means we avoid 2 more games, but equally, resting in that game and beating Leicester at home would have more or less quelled any relegation fears, they would have been 14 points behind us rather than 7 and had no chance of catching that up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn't at all be a surprise if there was some sort of clause in his contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tin hat time .

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, ridiculous good one Devon
Back in the real world we could have played Moore and Lankshear ensuring that Son and Richy are well rested for Leicester.
It’s beyond comprehension for some people
Have we transferred Levy to Woolwich yet

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Number 2 is a great point.

Yeah, ridiculous good one Devon
Back in the real world we could have played Moore and Lankshear ensuring that Son and Richy are well rested for Leicester.
It’s beyond comprehension for some people
