My team:
Ruddy
Valejo
Coady
Boly
Doherty
Vinagre
MGW
Saiss
Neves
Neto
Cutrone
Would start Dendoncker and Saiss for sure and either of Neves or Moutinho. Traore and Jonny as wing backs. Cutrone has to start as well, with either one of Jota or Jimenez. Vallejo for Bennett
The positive for this game is that Torino need to attack which should give us plenty of opportunities
The disaster would be an early Torino goal which would mean they don't have to go nuts out till late second half and then anything can happen
I think Traore should start, not only because he deserves to but to give Doherty a chance to do some more intensive fitness work over the week. Id be tempted to bring Saiss in too ahead of Neves. One moment of shear brilliance apart he's looked a bit out of sorts these last few games and Saiss was outstanding in Turin.
Agree that them needing to score should suit us and we should be able to open them up as we did at their place. If we can get the first goal we should be able to hold them.

How times have changed
End of last season everybody was saying Adama needed to go and if we got £3Mil we’d be lucky !
Now it’s ......Traore must start
The king is dead, long live the king !
Don't get me wrong halfy, I would have zero hesitation picking Doherty ahead of Traore if he were fit right now. And I would also add that it is still to be seen if Traore is any good defending.
Tricky team selection for Nuno this one. No question there were players in our starting 11 on Saturday who need a rest. Also no question that Torino are good enough to beat us if we play a weak team.
Doherty to me isn't over the knee injury he suffered pre season, has been hobbling by the time he came off in the last two home games. And Moutinho and Jota the two that would most benefit from a break.
Maybe a starting 11 of;
Patricio
Valllejo, Coady, Boly
Traore, Dendoncker, Saiss, Neves, Jonny
Jiminez, Neto
Thats my team but with Cutrone over Neto though it is interesting to see Nuno turn to Neto earlier than Cutrone a few times now.
Dont think I ever advocated ditching Traore but I know many did Halfy. Still think there's more to come from him.
Yes always my view that we should let go of Costa and Cavaleiro before Traore and I'm sure that will prove to be the right decision. Nuno hasn't got much wrong on decisions like that
Traora still has to do more for me He has undoubtedly improved, but still has to find his scoring touch and be more consistent.
Certainly looks like Nuno is on the same page as me regarding Traore.
If he improved his decision making, final ball, first touch, second touch, reading of the game, tactical awareness, finishing, and consistency, then we would have some player on our hands.

I don’t think starting both Saiss and Neves works in a midfield three in the current system. Neither of them really play the box to box midfielder role that well, which is required for the left and right centre midfielders. They work well in a two when they can both sit deeper, but unless we play a central attacking midfielder like MGW or Moutinho who can play higher up the pitch and allow them to both sit deeper; I can’t really see it working.
Can see us sitting deep with two mids and only having one, likely Dendoncker, roaming forward.

I’m not sure on that right now. Doherty has quite a few lapse in concentration and does cost us goals. We are always a bit weaker down that right hand side defensively with him and Bennet; which is why Dendoncker has become so integral to the side.
Traore pushes the opposition deeper on that side, which gives a bit of relief. Against Torino he showed good determination to win the ball back on a few occasions; including a couple of brave headers. He also provides an outlet and something different in being willing to take defenders on when teams sit deeper and get men behind the ball; something Doherty doesn’t do.
I think Doherty has got a real fight on his hands to keep his spot; which can only be good for the team.

Dendoncker isn’t creative enough to do that in my opinion. I think that midfield is really negative and will put us under pressure.
Have been a real critic of Traore for months. No doubt at all that, on form, he would get the pick. Agree that Doherty is still not fit, the question is whether he will regain that fitness by playing or by training. I reckon the former.
I would love to see real competition for that position but regardless of his improvement I would be very surprised if Traore is ever as good as Doherty, when both on form. We are certainly lucky to have 4 wingbacks who can all do their bit for the first team.
Bodvarson scores for Milwall, 2 minutes later Stearman scores for Sheffield Utd.
Albion must be playing tomorrow night?
And now Danny Batth scores for Stoke
Admin any chance of making this live in Gem's absence?
And Jack Wheelchair scores for West Ham.
