I view Levy similarly to what Wenger did for Arsenal. Overall, a phenomenal job, and a key reason (along with Poch, and a lesser extent Jol and Redknapp) for transforming our club from midtable nobodies to a massive club in Europe.

However, the last couple of years have shown he's lost his way and I don't see us getting back to competing for titles/CL under him. The stadium project is a great place for him to go out, but from a footballing perspective not backing poch then sacking him for Jose tells me he doesn't have a clue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you say go out, go where exactly?

For him/enic to go anywhere someone needs to come up with £1.5b.

In this current climate no one is going to want to part with that and then stick their hand in their pocket for another couple hundred million to buy players.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imo they should have been actively looking to sell as the stadium was being completed. They've essentially maximised their value with us now. To grow from here they will have to invest significantly like Liverpool's owners did.

I think the next few years will only devalue us as we slip towards midtable the stadium will get emptier for the football. ENIC will purely focus on monetising the stadium through NFL etc from now on

Daniel Levy is one of Spurs best ever chairman, in their 140 year history. I never quite get all the hate.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes and in all that 140 year history this is one of the weakest period we've had for trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well it really isn`t, Spurs won just two trophies from 1882 to 1951, so that is the weakest period ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even if we say that is true, having the worst period for trophies since the 50's doesn't come across much better.

Absolutely nothing. No offence against Spurs but with oil rich clubs and others in the league with more spending power, where is this claim coming from?
Also with a chairman known for his frugality, how will this success be achieved?

With a manager most consider well past his best and a playing staff in need of an overhaul?

Like I said no offence as I have no axe to grind with Spurs but the comment of our time is coming has zero basis for me.

It’s not about them wanting to sell it’s about getting someone to buy it.

No one would’ve touched it before now due to the stadium and loans. We only just got the loans sorted out .

So easy to say they should go it’s a whole different beast it actually happening.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you get your season ticket subsidised by him by any chance?

I would love to concur with you Sandy, but there's been plenty of time specially during transfers, when we all thought that Levy and his mantra may have screwed up good signings for us?

Coutinho, Bruno, Dybala etc. come to my mind
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not a season ticket holder now Morespur, only ever had one for a couple of years anyway, back in the day. I don`t need to be a season ticket holder to show my love and support of the club. I just go to as many games as I can get tickets for, which is most games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree that you don't have to be a season ticket holder to be a real fan and there are plenty of ticket holders who have no connection with Spurs

It seems you've bypassed answering my questoion abut Levy's failures in the transfer market...Accidental avoidance?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Levy, like all chairman has had his successes and failures in the transfer market. So not sure why you think all our transfer dealings have not been that good. There have been some excellent signings under Daniel Levy. Dembele, Toby, Verts, Eriksen, Son, Dele, Bale, Modric etc etc.

It is not really his fault that has a collective the players have not been able to deliver. That would be more down to the Manager and the actual players themselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jose? Because Poch has delivered plenty. I know Jose only been at the club for a few months, but the general vibe isn't that great -surely you can feel that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No, why would I judge any manager over six months. Never have, never will.

Why will Spurs slip towards midtable? Just because they are not doing that well at the moment despite missing all the better players, don't mean it will not change for the better.

How do you know what the future holds, football changes all the time. Nobody knows how next season, or the season after will pan out. Spurs still have some of the best players in the Prem playing for them, if everyone is fit.

I agree with the sentiments in this article. Supporting Spurs is no fun at the moment. Somehow it is even less enjoyable than our long period of mediocrity in the 90s.
I think that is where we are heading. Back to finishing in the top 10 being a good season.

Once Champions League qualification ceases to be realistic Levy will just be happy to stay in the PL and rake in the TV money and gate receipts.

Agreed mate. Been fed up of Spurs bottling trophies for years, but the CL final pretty much turned me against them. All that hard work and we go out with a pathetic performance like that in the biggest game of our lives. Then this season just confirmed it for me, really have fallen out of love with this lot.

Yes the CL defeat would have been easier to take if they had played their hearts out and given everything and lost 3-2. Or taken the game to extra time.

But after going on about wanting to win trophies for years it felt like they didn't care when the opportunity was well with in their grasp. Especially with Liverpool not having a great game.

Yep that’s what annoys me. We all know Liverpool are miles better than us, there’s no disputing that, but they were bang average that night and were there for the taking: Spurs bottled it and froze like a bunch of losers. Everytime we play a huge game, this lot bottle it and freeze. Sick of them if I’m honest, they will never win anything:

don't think i have ever fully recovered from the non performance in the CL final. biggest game of our history / lives.. and these priiiiickkksss didn't even show up for the final. Liverpool were awful and there for the taking and we were even worse. cost me about 2k to get to Madrid and get accommodation too....

just cant be facked with them any more, and the way they threw poch under the bus just cemented it for me. will still renew my season ticket though, like an idiot.

Check above. The CL finish is when I finally turned on this lot properly. I haven’t felt the same about Spurs again. Would happily sell them all apart from Kane and Sonny. Would start completely again.

keep lo celso and add son to the for sale at the right price list... hugely inconsistent and doesn turn up for the big games same as everyone else.

as far as i am concerned virtually the whole squad should be available at the right price

I think the loss of Dembele or the lack of replacing him with another quality similar player, has cost us the CL in my view.
Dembele would have been awesome for us
