I am really not struggling with anything, if you don't get my point, then you are a serial point misser.

You really don’t know what you’re say do you?
Like, Saying that your wife “basically won” her appeal, how do you basically win?
You either win or lose!
What do you class as a genuine reason to be off work?
Unless your wife genuinely has some illness which i hope she’s well now!
But if it was colds and stuff i think her company were totally in the right for giving the lazy fat slob a warning for having 4 spells of absence in 6 months, people like that deserve everything they get.

If it were my company I'd treat it on a case by case basis and where people are taking the Ρiss, I'd give them the warning and where people have a legitimate reason, I wouldn't. I would also look for patterns, for example does it keep happening on a Monday, how many times does the same illness occur. I would then give advice and in some cases offer the company's help, in getting to the bottom of an illness.
As I said, case by case basis, not a straight warning for three periods of illness in six months.

I believe that 3 or 4 spells in 6 months unless someone has an ongoing illness 9 times out of 10 are piiss takers.
