I was once in a situation whereby we needed legal advice re a TUPE transfer. The QC from Edinburgh came in talked for 15 mins and finished up with 'which leads to me conclude this is not a TUPE transfer'. I said 'FFS' because we were transferring staff whom had been really good over a number of years. Whereupon the same QC said 'I've obviously misunderstood', he then talked for another 15 mins and said ' which leads me to conclude that this is a TUPE transfer'.
All of which leads me to conclude that you buy QC's opinions and use to try to frighten the 'opposition'.

If the vote is 'Yes' then it would be up to Partick Thistle and anyone else that took the same line, to take on the SPFL. and pay all legal fees of course if they are in the wrong. Just like Big Mike did to Rangers.

I wasn't paying, but the two-faced duplicitous cant charged £2k per day. But it worked, the staff were transferred on TUPE terms and conditions, mainly because I went around flashing my big whanger - a written QC's opinion - to frighten the opposition. It was worth a lot more money to the staff than £2k. But that experience made me very cynical about QC's opinion.

A very experienced lawyer once said to me that if you ask two lawyers a a question you'll get three answers.

Meanwhile Dundee have issued a statement which states nothing.

it's tricky because you have individual clubs each with their own interest solely on what can benefit their club.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dundee did this on purpose to push whatever agenda they have (probably to keep Dundee United in the Championship)

I find the initial vote a bit of a joke too

A lot of these clubs are desperate for money, they are presented with have 1 option to get them the money they need to potentially exist for a new season.

My reading is that a) the nominated clubs get their share of the prize money now or b) clubs can ask the SPFL for a loan. But the two are not the same thing.
