Sandy I thought the season was going to be voided

There’s a premier league meeting today, maybe it will happen then
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That is still my take mate, and also next season may go as well. I am just putting a scenario of footie behind closed doors, and why it probably won`t happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s going to happen in other European leagues so why not here
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we don`t know for sure it is going to happen. Only suggestions at the moment. I am sure that Governments around Europe will be shocked to think that football is above people`s lives. And who is going to fly players around Europe to finish off the European Competitions.

Don't see any reason why the PL can't conclude behind closed doors but I can't see many EFL clubs willing to take that kind of financial hit. Would be absolute suicide for most clubs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But how do you keep social distancing in place with the players, even playing behind locked doors?

Most of our players are afraid to tackle so the rest the clubs can follow our lead.

You can't, I just thought I'd go for a different angle so as not to get 60 replies from flustered Liverpool fans. If I'm totally honest then in my opinion the season is gone. Done. Dusted. Finito, particularly below the PL (who only care about money, not the good of the game anyway). I just can't be bothered having meaningless quotes thrown in my direction.

Football has already stepped over the line between responsible and utterly crass in thinking it has any importance or relevance at a time like this anyway. Death toll well into the thousands and we should care anywhere near as much as to when football resumes? No thanks.

But they are planning for it to happen

And who is saying football should go above peoples lives

Lets see where we are in a few months and go from there.

If there is no improvement come June/July time I think the league maybe cancelled

However the powers that be might just carry on the suspension indefinitely unless it's safe to resume.

i'd rather have matches behind closed doors for 18 months, than no football at all tbh

I think it’s much fairer to end the season as it stands then voiding the entire season

A Belgian study shows that when running you need at least 10m distance. 1.5 meter is only when standing still. Others disagree with that. Anyway...

If all staff and players have been isolating for 4 weeks plus then I'm not sure how that's an issue. Test the bare bones staff needed and things should be fine.
If they can't isolate properly earning them sums then we have no hope

No football player should be tested until every nurse, doctor , Carer, police officer, firefighter etc in the entire uk has been tested.

This is probably what will happen. Going back to last season's results is far more unjust. If you think about it, it's ridiculous. It won't happen IMO.

Belgium and Scotland have the precedent and UEFA must come up with a plan that determines who will play in Europe next season.

More likely they'll call the leagues as is, or even a points per game basis, which is the lesser of two great evils.

That's why the resumption date is an unknown. So many things have to happen first but I think it will turn out to be a viable option.

Any argument made against, it could also be argued back that clubs should have just done better until that point.

I don't think it will. If this had happened in 2015, then Leicester would have been relegated using that basis!

It's either completed or voided imo.

You would have relegated the future champions because they weren't allowed to play their full allocation of games.

The competition either needs to be completed or voided.

I wonder how quickly the novelty of behind closed doors will last. It's better than nothing but it hugely detracts from the enjoyment of watching it.

Will be so weird watching crucial matches with nobody there. Not sure it will generate the same emotions.

This the crowds make a football match , the chants abuse hurled it's part of being British.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
about 9 games i think to finish the league season.
