I'd say if there is a manager in England that is under no heat, at all, it would be Jurgen I've just won Liverpool the league and CL in the space of five years Klopp.

That’s not how competition works

Klopp’s got a bounty on his head

Bet he looks ridiculous

Over £100m (Pulisic & Kovacic) was spent with the ban in mind thats why.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Pulisic was signed before the ban, end of story!

Clearly Klopp spent his lockdown learning to play the world’s smallest violin

Whether you like him or loathe him, whether you like Liverpool or not....

....Klopp is the best Manager in the League, head and shoulders above the rest

He’s also a thoroughly nice guy

I like Klopp and he’s entitled to his view, but I think he’s talking out of his backside here.

What may have been true 20 years ago is no longer the case and Chelsea will need to manage their finances just like Liverpool will.

FFP will mean some fluctuations in what teams can spend year on year but Liverpool could go out and sign a few top players if they really wanted, no question.

Strange comments from him and not sure what they’re motivated by.

He said we have had success doing what we do and cannot just decide to operate like chelsea, probably not just on about this window but the entire abramovic era in general same with city.

"Clubs are in different situations and we are living in uncertainty in the world.

"For some clubs it seems to be less important how uncertain the future is because they are owned by countries, owned by oligarchs, and that is the truth.

"We are a different kind of club.“

Again true.

“Strange comments from him and not sure what they’re motivated by.”

With no signings on Merseyside a spoon of sanctimonious b0llocks from the manager should be enough to sustain the scousers until the new seasons starts

Well no, the question didn’t really mean he needed to make all of these comments and it didn’t feel like a spontaneous answer, more like something he’s been ready to say.

Maybe, or maybe he just doesn’t understand the transfer situation at Chelsea at the moment, which would be odd for a man of his intelligence.

He answered a question about liverpools transfer business and mentioned an example of a club thats different to how we operate and all of a sudden city n chelsea fans are upset by it. Thats whats happened theres no motive behind other than explaining his and the club he manages situation.

Okay, perhaps motivated was the wrong word to use.

I’m just surprised because I think he’s wrong and I think he’s intelligent enough to know he’s wrong.

Which means he either hasn’t researched it or there’s an agenda behind his comments.

We’ll leave the third option of him being right and me being wrong to one side because we all know that can’t possibly be the case.

What is he wrong on? From those quotes in the bbc?

I think he’s wrong to say that Liverpool can’t behave like Chelsea in the transfer market.

Klopp is the most over rated manager in the league, spends a fortune on players and plays with 13 men every week

Klopp says "uncertainty" created by Covid-19 is "less important" for some.

True

He said the Reds have had success "by being the club we are", adding: "We cannot change that overnight and say 'now we want to behave like Chelsea'."

True

Clubs are in different situations and we are living in uncertainty in the world.

"For some clubs it seems to be less important how uncertain the future is because they are owned by countries, owned by oligarchs, and that is the truth.

"We are a different kind of club. We reached the Champions League final two years ago, won it the following year and won the Premier League by being the club we are."

Again all true, dont see what the issue is lol. Did we spend 200m in a global pandemic?

I just told you the part I think he’s wrong on.

Well we clearly cant thats why the owners arent? Hence passing up on havertz n werner long term targets of ours apparently?

posted on 10/9/20

Having read a detailed explanation of our finances recently we can't behave like Chelsea just have atm unless we borrow. So yeah if we borrowed loads of money we could but we haven't so we can't.

We've never spent as much in one window as Chelsea just have, we've never spent more than £80m on a player as Chelsea just have and we don't pay anyone as much as Chelsea do Werner.

Now none of that bothers me but I'm not sure what's up for debate here. Clearly some 606 accountants know more though.

Two problems with that.

Firstly, it’s complete conjecture to say you would spend but you can’t - you don’t know that.

Secondly, there are some reasons why Chelsea can spend well this summer and it has nothing to do with how they’re run / owned and everything to do with their balance sheet over the past 12-24 months.

Any normal owner would be a businessman and see that covid has wiped out pretty much all of that and predicted even more. But it doesnt matter cos hes wn oligarch wont even blink at it infact will use it as an excuse to strengthen and get around ffp whilst they can. Thats the difference.

Here’s Robbing, who’s read a report and is now qualified to dismiss everyone else’s opinion.

Our resident expert on just about everything.

There’s a difference between not being able to behave like Chelsea and not being able to spend as much as them this summer.

That part seems to have escaped you.

Perhaps someone can tell us what specifically about Chelsea’s ‘behaviour’ it is that Liverpool can’t replicate.

Well with respect I think you need to read up a bit on how Chelsea have financed their signings because it isn’t by being bankrolled.

I mean no offence by that. I’ll post up some links tomorrow if I remember - you may feel differently when you read them.
