I just want to caveat this and say that I don't 'hate' most of these guys as humans, but as footballers, a lot of them act like caaants.

The only players I dislike as human beings are Joey Barton, Ashley Cole, John Terry and Marcos Alonso. No surprise that most of them play/played for Chelsea.

The only reason I can think people hate Kane is jealousy and the fact he scores against them a lot. Arsenal being the main culprits on here picking him. What other reason ? He’s not a nasty player. So, it can only go down to one thing and it’s the fact he’s so bloody good and people just can’t hack it

I don’t know if you can class someone who plays in another league an opposing player or not (I suppose anyone who doesn’t play for you qualifies?!).
Having said that, I’m going for Neymar from this period. Too many to mention over the years, but Dowie and Wise stand out.

Imagine hating someone you’ve never met whose sole job is to run around and kick a ball.

This is a fair point. But that’s like asking do you like murderers or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True, but most murderers don't get to live in my dream job earning millions a year while still being an insufferably smug with seemingly no worries whenever he plays

I hate players that seem to hurt or injure their opponents regularly like Marouane 'the elbow' Fellaini and that De Jong idiot.

Hard to disagree. Eur 61,000 fine wasn’t it. Not even a prison sentence

Don't hate any player but I do really dislike those that feign injury and try to get other players into trouble - Sergio Busquets is the stand out for me.

In terms of irrationally disliking people - Fabregas. Amazing footballer in his prime but just appears to be an little weasel imo.

Jamie Vardy !!!

Although I'd take him in a minute if he were a bargain (even at his age!) I do hate seeing him line up against us, and he does look like a reel prricck, but I reckon he's most likely a proper bloke off the pitch.

I don't hate anyone, but Kane is going to injure a player seriously one day, he is the biggest cheat that has put on pair of boots, look at his challenge on a Arsenal player 1mins after he got rid of the ball.

Paul Merson - doesn't even hide his desire to try
anything to unsettle Spurs.
Chris Sutton - there is something not right about this
bloke. Comes out with stuff that is nasty
just for attention. Plus, for whatever
reason, hates Spurs.
Martin Keown - has an absolutely delusional idea of
what impartial, professional football.
punditry is. Doesn't even try to hide
his bias for Arsenal, even if it means
exaggerating everything he says by
about 100%.
Gary Linaker - overpaid buffoon. Irritating every time
he opens his mouth.
Antonio Rudiger - Can't forget his attempt to paint
Spurs with the racist brush, forcing
the club to undertake an inquiry,
just to find nothing, as everyone
knew. But mud had already stuck.
Got Son sent off with blatant play
acting. And was at it again last
night. Got the Madrid defender sent
off for virtually nothing, then not
happy with that, spent the next 5
minutes goading other Madrid
players.

Ah yes how could I forget. Detestable opposing player but a top player. Can’t forgive him for diving for a pen in the 5-3 defeat at their place. Stitched Rafa up big time

There's been a perception that England captain's get away with more than other players for as long as I can remember. I think Kane just suffers from that a little bit.

I think he cheats more than your average player, but yes bit of an exaggeration. For me he's in that Pepe category of being a horrible bast@rd in tackles, then turning into a pansy whenever he's tackled.

And I agree that he will seriously injure someone one day.

Fernandinho for making a hundred tactical fouls a game but only getting one booking usually in the last few mins

lets see if he does. the way its mentioned all the time you'd think he does it every game and he is yet to seriously injure someone. i dont like it and he should stop it for sure.
i dont see him cheating anymore than your average modern day footballer tbh. like Naby said because of maybe the England captain bias he suffers a bit, thats a more measured view on it imo

Perhaps, maybe it's because the nature of the challenges he makes fall more into the dangerous play category than the professional foul one, that people feel more strongly about it.

Plus people hate diving and like to blame it on foreigners, but when it's their captain doing it so blatantly they're slapped in the face with it.
