'the biggest cheat to put on a pair of boots' oh come on. especially from a liverpool fan
________________
I think he cheats more than your average player, but yes bit of an exaggeration. For me he's in that Pepe category of being a horrible bast@rd in tackles, then turning into a pansy whenever he's tackled.
And I agree that he will seriously injure someone one day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
lets see if he does. the way its mentioned all the time you'd think he does it every game and he is yet to seriously injure someone. i dont like it and he should stop it for sure.
i dont see him cheating anymore than your average modern day footballer tbh. like Naby said because of maybe the England captain bias he suffers a bit, thats a more measured view on it imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps, maybe it's because the nature of the challenges he makes fall more into the dangerous play category than the professional foul one, that people feel more strongly about it.
Plus people hate diving and like to blame it on foreigners, but when it's their captain doing it so blatantly they're slapped in the face with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah its beyond blaming foreigners now, majority of english players do it also.

Nope it's not. I don't have any issue with someone playing on the edge, accidents happen. It just seems like with Kane it's often dangerous and calculated.
i think because kane is such a good player the fact he cheats much more than the average player is what is hard to understand.
nothing like suarez who was chopped down a couple of times a game with nothing given so he resorted to diving occasionally.

he did explain what he is doing and i havent seen him do that so blatantly since the Arsenal game at home with Gabriel i think it was. we've also seen other players do the same, granted not as often, its just a narrative to put on a player that annoys you.
i dont hate any non-murdering footballer but a hell of a lot annoy the chit out of just like spurs players do a plenty also.

Don’t really dislike any current players other than Trent, I don’t know what it is about him he just irritates me. Maybe Di Maria too. From the past I’d go Bellamy, Bowyer, Diouf and Thatcher.

typical comment from a ManU, he must be friend of Kean
If we can summarise what makes us hate a player from the responses above, I'd say two things stand out:
1) Obviously there are pantomime villains that spring to mind, but the players we *really* hate are the players with a dirty or dishonest streak who contrive to trade off a reputation of being a gentleman of the sport.
2) That hatred is magnified if they're a hugely talented footballer playing for a direct rival, and who makes your team suffer.
For me the classic example is Thierry Henry. A lot of pundits saw the smooth sophistication of his football, heard the French accent and came up with this notion of the thinking man's footballer. He didn't just benefit from this image; he monetised it. Think of the 'va va voom' ads; think of the jazz soundtrack. What he was selling wasn't the fact that he was an excellent athlete; he was selling Thierry Henry as a cultural product, Gallic intellectual that transcends the vulgar business of winning and losing matches. But that was of course fake. And no more starkly exposed as fake than when he cheated against Ireland in that playoff. What I really hated about that wasn't the cheating. Everyone is capable of that. What really got me was him sitting down on the pitch in a very public display of how sad he was about what had happened afterwards, as if to tell the world "I'm not that guy". But he was that guy, like most footballers willing to cheat, willing to foul, ready to moan when beaten by a better team. Footballers are allowed to be knuts. But they aren't allowed to have it both ways. Especially if they keep scoring against my team.
Oh, and 3) Players with a habit of referring to themselves in the third person in interviews should be executed on the spot.

For what it's worth, that poster is universally loathed on the MU board. For me Suarez was a pantomime villain type, who I didn't instinctively hate, though the abuse of Evra soured things. But with Salah, even though he's scoring lots of goals for our biggest, bitterest rival, I really struggle to find any antipathy for. Plays with a smile on his face and doesn't have the dirty "love it if he's on your team, hate it if he's not" streak that e.g. Firmino possesses.
