Just glad we don't have to listen to the bears saying I told you so if restrictions were extended, that would have been exhausting
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets be honest - opening up the stadiums now with Omicron still due to peak makes about as much sense as putting an arbitrary 500 figure on attendances in the first place.

However I think we have seen enough now to just accept a complete absence of logic in whatever is put in place so we shouldnt ever be surprised.

Having fans back is great. The no fans at Parkhead never appealed to me at all. Same with Pittodrie - I would rather see their greetin faces inside the ground when we beat them.

The concern that still exists is that we have no wriggle room now for postponed fixtures.

Just need to cross our fingers again and hope that works out too.

What is all this nonsense about no wriggle room for postponed fixtures.

Somebody posted it somewhere thinking it made sense. Then others copied it because it suited their agendas.

Assuming we play the fixtures as currently scheduled, which we will, then by Feb 2 or thereabouts we'll be exactly back to where we would have been with exactly the same amount of wiggle room as if we hadn't started the break a few days earlier than originally planned.

And more fans will see games and clubs and their contractors will make a bit more money / keep jobs.

Looks like the winter is going to pass without any bad weather. I know February still to come but the forecast rest of this month is fine. Seems like a relatively mild winter this year

Glad it's getting kicked into touch, just in time for the rugby

There was zero logic in the decision.

Outdoor events aren't really a risk and while I accept the point around travel you have to be vaccinated to get in the stadium so even if someone did get it the chance of severe illness is ridiculously low and significantly less than say shopping centres etc.

Still can't understand any reason it was done other than in the hope that our numbers would be better than England and they could point to the extra thing they did and football fans they seem to think of as an easy target.

Glad it's getting kicked into touch, just in time for the rugby
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Or is it?

Devil will be in the detail.

Said that last night-seems to be getting missed.

‘ Doncaster and the league said it’

Just shows who folk will believe when they want to justify their stance.

I'm not 100% sure but I think his statement related to the postponing the first round of games as that would have meant 3 rounds of fixtures bring rescheduled.

As opposed to the mere 2 rounds thatcl were moved.

‘ Neil Doncaster, SPFL Chief Executive, said: “We have had intense and positive discussions with all cinch SPFL clubs over the past 24 hours, since the announcement by the Scottish Government of a three-week period of restrictions on fans attending matches. We have advised our clubs that any postponements increase the risk of further disruption to an already highly congested fixture calendar.’

That’s what Doncaster said-but as pointed out, as long as we get to February 2nd then we’re back on schedule.

Well if he’s only including Cinch SFPL clubs, I’m sure Rangers won’t be included.

Didn't agree or disagree, I mean it was asked where did that line come from, I told you.

Like everything the useless waster says it's probably nonsense but many celtic fans seem to think he does a bang up job.
