I genuinely believe we've reached the point that in terms of general professional opportunity in life, where female's are more privileged.
Of course, men have had this privilege for decades or even centuries prior. Whether that makes it right or not is another matter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hahahahahahahahhahahhahaaahahahahahhahaahhahahhahahahaha!!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh my, only took a couple more comments from ol' Eddie Body Odour to outdo that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Another great comment with some insightful points…
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok Edward, you want to know the truth? We've had these kind of debates a million times before and when there are reasoned or well thought out comments you ignore the debate and only respond to the insults as it gives you a (misjudged) heir of superiority. Meanwhile you sit there agreeing more and more with what Tommy Robinson has to say and talking to all your mates from the home counties at how "wrong" the left have it with getting all upset over hate-filled views.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Associating anyone who leans right with Tommy Robinson - come on you’re better than that.
I made my points earlier in the thread about why I feel what I said is the case. It’s fine if you disagree but it’d be more interesting to hear counter arguments.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m not better than that, ive seen evidence to suggest otherwise.
However discussing your previous post seriously:

It simply isn’t true. You have to look at the profile of CEOs/CFOs etc to see that the ratio isn’t even close. What has happened though is larger companies do target certain groups to hit diversity quotas so that they can get away with giving the important roles going to the same people. So I’d say that in financial, engineering, marketing etc firms it may be easier for a non-white non-male graduate to get hired so that the firms can say ‘oh look at our diversity percentage’ but when you go the higher up the ladder all the managing directors, partners etc tend to look the same
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree that males make up for a disproportionate amount of board level and leadership positions, it seems from decades / centuries of sexism and stereotypes against women.
I do think it’s completely different now but it will take time for the consequences of this to trickle up to a point where female’s are more equally represented in senior positions. I mean statistically in pretty much ever sector it’s increasing in women’s favour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So why do you think females are more privileged then? When it doesn’t suggest so?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, let me rephrase. I believe when it comes to job applications and promotions in the professional world, women now have an advantage over men due to the D&I agenda of the western world in today’s society.
I’m not disagreeing that men currently hold a disproportionate amount of leadership roles, but that proportion is decreasing steadily.

I think a distinction needs to be made between sexism and misogyny because they are not the same. The latter is more hateful and aggressive.
If you called women bad drivers, then you are being sexist. If you continued to state that they should not be allowed to drive because they don't have the intelligence, then that is misogyny.
You will observe sexism and causal sexism, often excused as 'just banter' in many environments... and you will see this at football matches.
Misogyny is defined as hatred of, aversion to, or prejudice against women. Now that is something that is a level further than sexism. I would say all misogynists are sexist but not all sexists are misogynists.
To call football a misogynistic game is to label it to be fundamentally hating of women. I do not believe this to be the case. Yes there will be incidents of this but one cannot generalise so widely about such a serious allegation.
Hence why i believed Fletcher didnt fully understand the meaning of the word and also why I asked for examples.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you're confusing the etymological definition of misogyny with its current definition. The definitions of sexism (when exercised against women, of course) and misogyny are actually fairly close.
As per the OED:
misogyny
noun
dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.
sexism
noun
prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
They're not as far apart as you think. You don't want to be called a misogynist because to you it sounds harsher, and you don't think that barring women from the better paying jobs in the football media on fairly tenuous grounds is due to an ingrained prejudice.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But there is a difference, and one is more of a fundamental dislike or contempt of women. Even the OED definition, which was merged as bit with the definition of sexism some time ago, acknowledges a clear difference.
I can appreciate that some may not be able to comprehend the difference and interchange the words.
But in this time there is clearly to me far less occurrence of misogyny in the game. One of the most misogynistic games out there is golf....a game that comes from the abbreviation of Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden. The attitudes in that were clearly misogynistic, an attitude that women were inferior and should not be allowed to play the game. That has changed massively and football is also way beyond these sort of attitudes.
Football at every level embraces female participation. while some may hold the view it is inferior in quality, that comes from a considered opinion of what we see, not, for most, a fundamental dislike of women.
yet to hear examples of misogyny in the game that warrants football being labelled as a misogynistic sport.

Hahahahahahahahhahahhahaaahahahahahhahaahhahahhahahahaha!!!!

Oh my, only took a couple more comments from ol' Eddie Body Odour to outdo that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Another great comment with some insightful points…

I genuinely believe we've reached the point that in terms of general professional opportunity in life, where female's are more privileged.
Of course, men have had this privilege for decades or even centuries prior. Whether that makes it right or not is another matter.”
